I was also adding, back in my earlier post to you, that regarding "stirring up a hornet's nest:" I think its a shame when people can get their hair so tied up knot over a fictional movie. We all have our different tastes, & while the disaster was real, James Cameron's movie was entirely fictional & nothing more. So why both Titanic fans & anti-fans can not discuss their views civilly really boggles my mind.

In 2005 on the Pit. there were two posters who got into an argument over The Godfather. They were preparing to meet at a halfway point behind the King of Prussia mall (Pennsylvania) to settle their differences with a fight.
Eventually the brother of one of them made him realize how stupid it was.

Titanic fans are so obsessive that I do not think even their own siblings would be able to knock sense into them at how stupid they are over their devotion for that movie.

I do love The Godfather trilogy, but, I like to think I am mature enough to accept the views who don't like those films. As a matter of fact, I go a different route than MOST Godfather fans: While the first movie is definitely the one practically everyone agrees is the greatest of the 3 films, my second favourite after the first one is the THIRD one, & the second one the last. Everyone else likes #2 the most after the first one, & hate the third one.

In a world of followers, I like to be an original.

(I hope those 2 posters won't think of challenging me to that big fight behind that shopping mall in Pennsylvania. )

Back when I first started reading online message forums (but, before I started posting on them), the very first one was a message forum for reviews of James Cameron's Titanic. Boy!!! Were the fans & anti-fans going at it!!!!

That is the typical behaviour between Titanic fans & anti-fans. Regarding the Godfather: I happen to be a big fan of it myself, but, I can handle it if/when I find someone who isn't a fan. I do recall, many years ago, talking on the phone with a friend about different movies we liked or didn't like, & when I mentioned The Godfather, he said he thought it was overrated (like this particular poster whom you are talking about), so I explained to him, the significance of the movie was Michael Corleone, who in the beginning of the movie, started out as an innocent kid, ashamed of his father's shenanigans, & then, by the very end of the movie was a cold-blooded mafia don. My friend said that he supposed I was right, but, still didn't think too much of the movie.

The thing about Titanic; believe it or not, I did actually like the movie, but, not to the extreme that a lot of fans do. Of the fictional movies about the Titanic, James Cameron's movie happens to be my favourite, but, I definitely prefer the movies that are about the actual people themselves, such as ANTR, & SOS Titanic.

Also, I felt it was immature the way in which a lot of fans described this particular movie, which was made at the very end of the 20'Th Century, to be the most romantic movie/story ever made. Who has even seen ALL the romantic movies & TV shows to make that judgement? When I mentioned all these, I got so many people on that message forum into such rut, it was insane.

Well, as I already explained to Sulla, I chose 'Sockstuff' because I was inspired by the user ID of a friend of mine from the Yahoo.com message forums. I had it for a few years, but, then when people were calling me 'Sock,' it just didn't feel right, as to me, 'Sock' could only be my friend (from the Yahoo.com forum). His actual user id was 'stuff_a_sock_in_it,' & as I already told Sulla, he really lived up to that moniker, & I just do not have it in me to post the way that he used to, so I decided to change it. So I picked Splashen instead.

I had Splashen for several years, & then decided after awhile, that I was sort of getting tired of it, & last year, I gave up posting on IMDB for Lent, & while I was not posting, I was wondering if I came back with a different user ID, just how long would it take for people to figure out it was me.
