Let's be honest. No one could ever do justice to the memory of the true legend that was Judy.

Re: renee zellwegger???? this is the worst casting ever

Maybe if she gets more plastic surgery she'll look more like Judy Garland. After all, Renee Zellweger looks nothing like Renee Zellweger anymore.

Re: renee zellwegger???? this is the worst casting ever

lol exactly she's a shall we say shell of herself nowadays like nicole kidman, yuck! who i now have zero attraction to bc of the plastic surgery.

Not even close. She won the Best Actress Oscar for the role.

For her portrayal of Garland, Zellweger won numerous awards and accolades, including the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, BAFTA Award and Academy Award.

Re: renee zellwegger???? this is the worst casting ever

yeah and the fact still remains she looks absolutely nothing like judy garland ever looked that's horrible casting. and in fact the worst casting ever.

now had it been someone who remotely looks like garland like say anne hathaway that might have worked.

Re: renee zellwegger???? this is the worst casting ever

I avoided the movie for two reasons. The first one is that I'm not particularly interested in a screen representation of Judy Garland. I think her movies, music and books have captured her "spirit."

The other reason is that I am not fond of the source material. Most Garland fans cream themselves over Gerold Frank, but I find his book to be boring, dry, incomplete and inaccurate in many spots. The people he interviewed had agendas that he had to meet before they would talk to him [Liza refused to have her grandfather or her father's sexuality discussed, Sid had to be payed for his involvement and there were certain matters not up for discussion, etc]. Gerold Frank also missed out on interviewing several of Judy's friends, MGM co-workers and other people she worked with. Among the missing are, Van Johnson, June Allyson, Ann Miller, George Murphy, Margaret O'Brien, Tom Drake, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Angela Lansbury, Phil Silvers, Eddie Vracken, Gloria DeHaven, Maximilian Schell and the list goes on.
