Maniac : now this is a masterpiece! i can say without a doubt this
Re: now this is a masterpiece! i can say without a doubt this
You mean the original of course, right?
Re: now this is a masterpiece! i can say without a doubt this
well this is the page for the original. also the remake is a masterpiece. i dont' know how they did it well actually i do its' bc it's a foreign to america film made in europe, but they made the remake uncomfortable and disturbing in a similar and almost as effective way as the original. actually it might be as disturbing and effective as the original

The remake for Maniac was shot in Downtown LA.
I think it was a very decent reboot. I still prefer the original and largely for the bleak, cold and sleazy early 80's NY atmosphere, yet the new version still managed to be just as unsettling and Wood was just as creepy.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?
Re: now this is a masterpiece! i can say without a doubt this
fine and that doesn't change how it looks and feels though. i mean it looks like europe like france or something. all dark and dingy. i'm just saying it doesn't matter where it was shot it just matters what it looks like in terms of where the movie, the story is.
also i know it was made by a european director. that matters a lot in terms of the kind of movie it is as far as mood and atmosphere. as well as content what they could get away with as far as extreme violence.
i'm glad you agree with me about the remake. the is no way a self respecting, and knowledgeable film scholar or film expert could give the remake a bad review or rating. its' a very good or great film no matter who gives a rating of it who knows about what makes a good movie.
"yet the new version still managed to be just as unsettling" exactly my gosh what an effective film. in this age of generic, copy cat, playing it safe movies we are in and have been since the '90s this was a very fresh breath of air on the horror film genre. my gosh very impactful. it wakes you from your typical, complacent way of watching horror movies nowadays.
yes wood is great but we hardly see wood. not taking anything away form him just saying we hardly see him acting in this. which make the experience that more disturbing and hard to take. we can't look away, bc his eyes are our eyes.
