Who is your favorite?

I'm curious to see who everyone's favorite original Greendale 7 member is. One person from the original group. No Dean, no Chang, no Hickey/Duncan/Frankie/Elroy, no Troy AND Abed, no ranking list. Only your one favorite. Just like your same sex celebrity crush you know you have one. I'm curious to see if there's diversity.

After much thought I can say that Pierce was my favorite member of the original study group. He resulted in many amazing jokes.

"Because I can't think of anything more frightening than a half-Arab, half-Polish virgin in his thirties. One way or another that ends with an explosion."

"My platform is one high enough to push Vicki off to her death."

Re: Who is your favorite?

Annie! Although Troy is a VERY close second.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Annie.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Me too. Abed is the man.

Troy would be my second option.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Annie, but Britta is a very close second.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Britta became my favourite during season 3 and now when I rewatch the first two seasons I can't believe she wasn't my favourite from the beginning.

Most people who have replied so far have said Annie. She was always the study group member I overlooked. What about her do you guys love?

Re: Who is your favorite?

I don't know if it's Annie or Allison Brie who is my favorite, but I just love watching her and watching her react and her reactions to what the other characters are saying.

She's just so damn cute and I think Allison makes the most of the lines Annie gets. To quote Stockholm Annie, "Why does the sun come up...? Why do children sing? Why birth? Why death? Why this whole box of Cracker Jack between...?

Re: Who is your favorite?

I love them all for various reasons. Early on my fave was probably Troy, but as I completed several watch throughs, I came to really appreciate Annie. Now I'll admit, I have a MASSIVE celebrity crush on Alison, but I do truly enjoy Annie as a character. Her Type A personality combined with all of her neuroses make her amazingly entertaining and she can do big as well as subtle. I love her competiveness as well as her manipulative side but also the side of her that truly cares about people. I find that I am so proud of the woman Annie has become over the course of the series, especially given what a low point she was at just prior to the series beginning including a complete lack of support from her parents. She's gotten to be the amazing woman she is today largely on her own and managed to retain a positive outlook on life and people.

Annie has been placed in a wide range of situations over the course of the series and handled almost all of them with aplomb and true humanity. Having seen every episode multiple, multiple times I have come to the conclusion that Alison is perhaps the most complete actor on the show, able to handle any emotion effortlessly. Her portrayal of Annie is a large part of what keeps me coming back. I feel like the scope of her acting talent has yet to be fully explored and I hope to see a lot of Alison in the future....(and hopefully some more of Annie, at some point).

Re: Who is your favorite?

Yeah, this too. Well said!

Re: Who is your favorite?

Pierce.

Re: Who is your favorite?

I go with Pierce too.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Britta...in all her phases.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Peyote Britta is my favorite.

Mudbutt Britta is a close second.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Britta by a country mile.

Get on the scale son! Get off the scale.

Re: Who is your favorite?

I vote Jeff. At least he wasn't a cartoon show character. He also had emotional depth as well as comedic value.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Damn, I just realized I am the only person wjo said that. Well my favorite AD charcter was Michael anyway, guess it makes sense.

Re: Who is your favorite?

There's no shame in liking best who the show was basically written around.

Well, that's the end of the first half. Let's take a look at our totals

Annie - 5
Britta - 4
Pierce - 3
Abed - 2
Troy - 1
Jeff - 1
Shirley - 0

Keep the votes coming. And remember kids the bible doesn't recognize divorce. Once you're married, you're married for life.

Re: Who is your favorite?

The reason Shirley has 0 votes is because she is constantly used as a wild card. Example: Annie is smart? Shirley beats her. Foosball? Shirley is good at it. Paintball? She is suddenly a badass. The app testing episode? People are suddenly bending over to be her slave. She basically has no character other than being good at stuff for a quick gag. Oh, and also she is almost as bigoted as Pierce but no one seems to mind.

Re: Who is your favorite?

It used to be Troy but I'm currently doing a complete series viewing of the show and Pierce is really coming off as my favorite. So I'm choosing Pierce Hawthorne.

Re: Who is your favorite?

He can be a slightly dickish but wise guy in one season and then a total villain in the next one. He is amazing.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Not to mention it was just nice to see Chevy Chase funny again.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Troy is by far the best. He has the least amount of lines and still the funniest. In another note, Shirley is the God damn worst. Can't stand her. She never evolved for me in the show. She sucks balls!

Re: Who is your favorite?

Pierce Hawthorne.

Re: Who is your favorite?

I actually apply that to Annie as well.

Aside from season four when she was written like she was a 12 year-old, Annie pretty much consistently kept her core humanity regardless of how cartoon-ish the show got at times.

I wish they had actually bothered to explore Annie's emotional depth to the level they did Jeff's, or hell, even Pierce's. But the flashes we got of her background really made me want to see more. And I'm disappointed that Dan bailed on even bothering to try by giving Annie so much as one episode to do that during season six (per the commentaries on Yahoo).

Care to explain that? I don't remember any scene in which she acted particularly different compared to the other seasons.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Britta, especially in the first two seasons. She started to decline during the third season when she became too goofy and pathetic. The worst thing the writers did to her, though, was in season 6 when she crapped herself. I couldn't believe that Dan Harmon would make Britta stoop that low.

Pierce is a close second. I'm sorry! I know you said nobody else, but I couldn't help it.

I agree! And what's worse is on the Communitary for that episode he was so proud of it.

Re: Who is your favorite?

I think the way the story progress, it become harder for Britta to be `street smart` again..i really like Brita S1 - S2, but after that?mehh..just another blonde in the movie

Re: Who is your favorite?

Annie.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Troy.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Abed

Re: Who is your favorite?

Shirley...she's underrated. I use a surprising number of her quotes like: "I'll make your ass sense," or "So why do you hate me and Jesus," or "...you are dippin' and dappin' and don't know what's happening."

Troy is a close second followed by Abed.

This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell out of here-Michael Scott

Re: Who is your favorite?

Troy's my favorite, but I maintain that "I'll make your ass sense" is one of the funniest lines in the series.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Britta, by far.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?

Re: Who is your favorite?

Now that I think about it, I don't think I like any of them. I think I hate them equally, separately! I think this show is so great when they're together!

But out of the secondary characters, I liked Leonard, Todd, Garrett, and John Oliver.

Re: Who is your favorite?

This is between Troy and Abed for me. While I think as a character, I like Troy the most...but from a writing standpoint, Abed often shakes things up, and a lot of his jokes tend to be the more meta ones, which generally end up as the funniest in my opinion.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Abed.

Hard time deciding who my number two would be.

Death to shakeycam directors!

Re: Who is your favorite?

Man, I really can't choose.. I would be friends with most of them.. The exception being Pierce, but I still found him funny.. I gotta say though that I would have to choose between Troy, or Jeff.. Maybe even Shirley..

Re: Who is your favorite?

Abed. One of the best (and most underappreciated, for some reason) comedy characters ever.

Re: Who is your favorite?

Annie by a mile, followed by Abed.
