The hypocrisy of the NFL…

A couple years ago…

NFL: Players are getting too many hits to the head that causes brain damage they suffer when they retire.
We are getting sued over this!
We must do something!
We do care about player safety and let's show that we care!
We can shorten the OT time down to 10 minutes and let's put in some rules about helmet to helmet hits.
See?
We care!

Now
NFL: Let's MAKE them play another game during reg. season so that we can make more money!
Fuck player safety.
Money is what matters more!

Fuckers.

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

Bump a loopa.

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

Hey stupid. Football is a dangerous sport. How about banning it?

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

I will admit that it is a guilty pleasure of mine.

While they are at it they could ban all fighting "sports" as well like boxing and MMA.

Crazy at how guys who do this is legal where if I did it to some guy on the street or in a bar I would go to jail.

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

MMA and Boxing train. There are clear rules established and a referee there. They aren't trying to kill each other or seriously injure each other, or fighting about something or someone. It's a sport to see who gets the most points or doesn't get knocked out.

You're acting upset that NFL doesn't care about their players. And they are hypocrites exploiting the players for money. Well ban the sport then.

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

Boxing and MMA are worse.
They are trying to kill each other.
Tyson is a monster and a cannibal trying to eat the ears of his opponents.

I have never heard of that in football.
If you want to get me to agree with you then you have to agree that all these sports are brutal.
If I can recognize that football is then why can't you see that boxing, MMA and others where fighters have actually died in the ring are even more brutal?

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

Haha I srsly doubt you watch the nfl haha

Haha I played in football I was the best haha fuck tart

Haha

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

You played?
Really?
What position?
Let me guess.
Every single one.
No, not at different times.
All at the same time because that is what an AlphaMale should do.
Anything less and you are a friggen wimp!

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

You ever shut your cunt mouth?

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

Don't see how it makes much difference. They were playing 20 games per season before this change (4 preseason games, 16 regular season); they're now playing 3 preseason games and 17 regular season, still 20 games total.

Don't know how the players feel about it, but the decision was approved by the NFL Players Association, with the final vote being 1,019 to 959.

Re: The hypocrisy of the NFL…

You bring up a good point with the total number throwing in the pre season games.

For teams that make the playoffs and SB, that will be more than 20 for them.

That does give the starters a break since they play the most during the reg. season.
I dunno how often coaches switch players but I do think 2nd and 3rd stringers play the least amount of total time.
Starting QB plays the most while all other players switch in and out.
Right?

Frankly I don't think preseason is needed.
Star players can still get injured for the whole season and without them in 2020 I think we saw they were unneeded.

The NFL has yet to show that they really care about player safety and doing enough to really change it.

"Don't know how the players feel about it…"

Here is the voice of one…

a move to a 17-game schedule for the regular season would come with two additional playoff games (one extra wild-card game per conference), according to ESPN. Playoff expansion reportedly isn't an issue for the players, though, compared to the idea of an extra week of regular-season play.

Yes, the players would earn a game check for that 17th regular-season contest, but the terms of the proposed CBA reportedly would limit that check to $250,000 per player, a laughable deal to the many players who make more per game. Yet, according to the sentiments expressed by Richard Sherman almost a month ago, the players' pushback against the idea of a 17-game schedule is rooted deeper than compensation.
Speaking to media on the Wednesday before Super Bowl 54 in Miami, the 49ers cornerback and NFLPA executive committee member explained why the 17-game schedule is a sticking point for players in CBA negotiations. Here's what he had to say:
"I don’t think it’s something that players are interested in, honestly. And if that’s the point they’re negotiating on, I think these negotiations are going to go on a lot longer than anticipated.
"It’s odd to me — and it’s always odd — when you hear player safety as their biggest concern. They’re really standing up for player safety, player safety, player safety. But it seems like player safety has a price tag. Player safety up to the point of, ‘Hey, 17 games makes us this much money. So we really don’t care how safe they are, if you’re going to pay us this much money to play another game.'
"That’s the part that’s really concerning for us as a union and us as players, because they think that players have a price tag on their health. And I don’t think we’re in the same ballpark in that regard. Players have been more aware of player safety and longevity and just life after football. And the league kind of pretends that they’re interested in it, pretends that they care about it, makes all these rules and fines all these players, but then still proposes for players to play an extra game.
"And not just 17. They’re really just saying 17 so they can get to 18. So that’s two more opportunities for players to risk their bodies and put their bodies on the line. That’s what’s so ridiculous about it, and nobody calls them out. Nobody calls out the hypocrisy.
"I’m hoping that one day people will be brave enough to call out the hypocrisy of saying, ‘Hey we really care about player safety, but hey we also want you to play an extra game, put your body on the line and risk your career.’"
