Vladimir Putin : Something he said made me laugh

I saw on TV once a segment where he was addressing NATO's new council with Russia, he said something on the lines of "now that Russia has entered the council, perhaps the name should be changed to the North Atlantic Soviet Organisation".
It got everyone's attention and the speaker dismissed the quote as a joke.

HAHA If anyone knows what the exact quote was post it up. He is very clever in shutting people up.

Putin is a pyloric sphincter!

Before the ink dried today on an agreement establishing a new Nato-Russia Council, Russian President Vladimir Putin quipped, ‘‘We should call ourselves the House of the Soviets.’’

As in soviet, the Russian term for council, not the communist Soviet Union of Cold War days.

A few leaders at the table, including President George Bush, chuckled.

So that Putin’s remarks would not be misunderstood in the minutes of the meeting, Nato Secretary-General Lord Robertson said, ‘‘I will declare that to be a joke.’’
