Bud Abbott : Seinfeld reference
Re: Seinfeld reference
Bud Abbott was part of the Abbott and Costello comedy team with Lou Costello. He was the straight man while Lou was the funny guy so obviously Bud would call Lou an idiot. Not to mention that Jerry is a fan of Abbott and Costello.
Re: Seinfeld reference
In the Seinfeld episode where Jerry, Elaine and George agree to spend time with a senior citizen, Jerry's old man is named Sid Fields. Sid Fields was the actor who

played the landlord (also named Sid Fields) on the Abbott and Costello show.
Re: Seinfeld reference

Re: Seinfeld reference
The Seinfeld show was full of A&C homages. Like the time Jerry and another guy are throwing money awy outside the opera ("Hey, I don't care about the money, it's the principle!")
Re: Seinfeld reference
It was a reference to the fact that Bud was always hitting or insulting Lou. Jerry Seinfeld is a fan of Abbott and Costello.

I never heard of Bud Abbott but what was the reference to? Did Abbott call a lot of people idiots?
