Slumber Party Massacre : One of the better recent horror remakes

One of the better recent horror remakes

I watched this today. It was a lot of fun. The film pays homage to the original while also subverting expectations and putting their own spin on the story. One of the better horror remakes of the past several years. 8/10.

Re: One of the better recent horror remakes

Its gone woke by the sound of it. No nudity and the actors look horrid millennial/zoomer.

That the original was directed and written by women, only shows how this woke mentality of not pandering to straight male fantasies is absurd.

Re: One of the better recent horror remakes

There is actually a little nudity. A character takes a sexy shower and you see his bare ass before he gets stabbed through the heart. And I thought the cast looked pretty good. Why does a film need to pander to straight male fantasies to be good? It's funny, entertaining, with good kills and some nice twists.

It doesn't! I couldn't care less about fembot nudity not being straight, but that was the intention of this reboot right from the start:

The female filmmakers behind this remake of the 1982 slasher film promised to take "the best parts of its predecessor, scrapping the demeaning bits, and amping up the female gaze to eleven," though they didn't explain what that meant.

It's pure woke hypocrisy. Its demeaning to show female nudity, but not male.

Females exploited themselves in the cheeky original and it was done with a subtle parody tone.

I loved it! Loved that they even gave a nod to the guitar drill from Part 2.

Re: One of the better recent horror remakes

This movie was filmed in my hometown-Warren, OH! So that means that Dante from Clerks was in my area.

We don't talk about Bruno! No, no, no!

Re: One of the better recent horror remakes

Really!

According to IMDB it was filmed in South Africa.

Re: One of the better recent horror remakes

I meant Bloody Slumber Party or maybe it was this one but I think Brian O'Halloran backed out of the latter movie.

The actor Chris Zylka was born in Warren, OH. You know, the actor from the 4th Final Destination movie?

I remember my aunt telling me that when him and Paris Hilton were a couple, they visited the Avalon Inn.

We don't talk about Bruno! No, no, no!

Re: One of the better recent horror remakes

Well, it can't be this one because it was filmed in SA.

Couldn't care less about the FD movies.
