The Terminator : My Ranking of The Terminator Films.

My Ranking of The Terminator Films.

The Terminator film franchise is my all time favorite film franchise with A Nightmare on Elm Street being my 2nd favorite I adore every single film in both franchises and please be advised my opinions may differ than most so that make it lesser than yours and vice versa.
So here we go:(This list goes from my most to least favorite)

Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines:
I really dig this film the most of the five films and I do know to most Terminator fans it would blasphemous to rank it over T2 but it works the most for me.I really enjoy the style it adapts in the beginning and how it makes a darker and less comedic version of T2.I view Nick Stahl's John Connor as the most realistic and emotionally attachable actor to dawn to central role of the whole franchise.I really appreciate the character arc of Kate Brewster in it.I also admire the bleak and ballsey ending of it.Overall it gets a 10/10 from me.

The Terminator:
This film gave birth to this wonderful and near flawless franchise.I really enjoy the gritty nature of this film that only T3 & small aspects of Salvation recaptured.Everyone gives a stellar performance. It's basically a remake of the 1978 classic Halloween with a Action tone not a Horror tone.Overall I give it a 9/10

Terminator:Geinsys:
This film to me anyways feels like a love letter from true fans of the original two Cameron classics.Sure it's probably the most light and soft of the bunch but I respect it for answering a lot of unanswered questions and for being creative and ambitious. The only actor I have a up for questioning performance was Jai Courtney but it still doesn't get in my way of enjoying it.Overall I give it a 9/10

Terminator 2:Judgement Day:
This film is a masterpiece in it's own right and I don't think it has any contradictory continuity elements to the franchise as a whole.I still do love it but I found the lack of a constant threat to be a bit underwhelming and I'm not a fan of Edward Furlong's performance as John Connor. But still this film is amazing has a nice flow and some sincerely badass moments.I really like it's themes and messages it brings up.Overall I give it a 7/10

Terminator:Salvation:
This film will forever have a special place in my heart for being my first theatrical Terminator experience back in 2009 and for being my first Blu-ray ever.I really like that it brings us to the future the previous three films we're talking about tough I'm not to keen on the Mad Max-esque look of it being a desert landscape I would've preferred the dark, grim & menacing future that the previous films had.I really like the idea of making a human/terminator crossbreed.I also like seeing the Terminator being assembled.Still this is the weakest one of the lot for me.Overall I give it a 7/10

Now give me your rankings and please do provide details like your likes and dislike with each respective film. I adore them all for what they are and I do feel that each film works for the franchisees benefits.

Re: My Ranking of The Terminator Films.

Alright, I'll bite...

C'mon, man! T3 at #1!!! You sound like you're a couple cans short of a 6-pack...

1. THE Terminator... The best. Arnold is used perfectly. It's original, scary, tense, & bleak. Reese and Sarah are great together. It's far more thrilling when the heroes are vulnerable and not protected by a super hero terminator. Best future scenes as well. 10/10

2. T2. One of the greatest sequels of all time and a blockbuster of epic proportions. Special effects that are still better than a lot these days. Great action sets, fun one liners. A gripping story. T1000 is a solid villain but despite its technical superiority to the older model villain from the first, far less intimidating when "Uncle Bob" is there to help protect the Connors. Another 10/10

3. T3. Decent action flick that I found myself liking more after a few viewings. Doesn't live up to the lofty expectations set by its predecessors. 7/10 on a good day.

4. T:S. An ok action movie with a few solid performances. Over all though, does nothing to halt the downward slope this franchise is on. 6/10.

5. T:G.. A useless mess. I don't like to rate movies that I only see once because sometimes initial reactions can be too extreme so I would like to see it at leas once more. Still, this is a 4/10 at best for me. The new Sarah is too cute to be taken serious and the new Reese is so stiff and bland. Arnold is always fun but this movie is a huge misfire.

Re: My Ranking of The Terminator Films.

Couldn't agree more with what you've said. I have no idea what's going on in OP's head. 1 and 2 are the best (no question), 3 is a bit meh especially compared to the first two and the latest two are utter messes.

Re: My Ranking of The Terminator Films.

Wow, you actually mirror my views completely, even the scores you've given to each film match mine. I had to check your username to make sure it wasn't an old post of mine that I've forgotten about.

How fuckin’ retarded was the OP up there?

I stopped reading where he said he liked how T3 was less comedic than T2.

Posted 5 years ago, hopefully he’s accidentally drowned himself in a dishwasher by now.
