Re: Marilyn Monroe

Who can say? I’m going to imagine that she was until somebody tells me differently.

Re: Marilyn Monroe

Well, she and JFK got along pretty good so….

Re: Marilyn Monroe

Are we sure about that? Did they ever ascertain where Marilyn was that fateful afternoon?

She was giving me a blow job.

😺 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 🤨 Let's go, Brandon! 🤨 Try that in a small town.

Re: Marilyn Monroe

Are you sure that pic is of MM and not Scar Jo who played MM in a Tony winning role on BROADway?

That also looks like Elizabeth Berkley from Showgirls.

Re: Marilyn Monroe

I recently read a biography on Marilyn and it seems a lot more balanced and objective than you might think. Of course, there is made mention of her well-known notorious unprofessionalism, not showing up on the set for days in a row. But I hadn't ever heard about her having a temper, which apparently she did. I'm sure she was almost all nerves to begin with. And to be constantly pulled on in so many directions would take somebody of great strength to cope with and Marilyn really did not have that. It is no wonder that she only made it to 36. But when she was here, she was just charming. You can definitely count me in as somebody who is totally taken in by her! She was adorable.

I love her look for the unfinished "Something's Got To Give" (that title is too ironic for comfort)

I love her

Re: Marilyn Monroe

I don't think she was balanced at all. There's a thinly veiled movie about her called The Goddess that was made when she was still alive. Admittedly, it's a hit piece but it's probably a fairly accurate portrayal of how unstable she was, based on how closely it captured details of her life, as well as horror stories that actors have told about what it was like working with her. (Tony Randall and Tony Curtis famously bashed her.) The Goddess even predicted her eventual accidental suicide years before it happened; that's how accurate it probably was.

I also remembered watching a documentary awhile back with some rare newsreel footage of her during one of her tumultuous marriages (I forget which), and the look of torment on her face was unreal. She didn't look merely upset or sad or anything. She looked tormented and was so far gone she couldn't even hold it together for the cameras.

Re: Marilyn Monroe

she was like elvis and michael jackson. the people around them can't force them to clean up their act, but stand back and watch the train wreck.
