Re: Likelihood of a nuclear war?

Chances are HIGHER now than at any other time in history according to members of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists who recently moved the Doomsday Clock up to 90 seconds to midnight, the closest the clock has ever been to midnight since its inception in 1947.

But let's ignore the warnings of these so-called experts and listen to the neocons and Pentagon shills on CNN instead. Nothing can go wrong, right? eyes.gif

Re: Likelihood of a nuclear war?

I wonder why they think it is closer now than the Cuban crises?
Maybe because that was not as long and drawn out as this war is.
That was over in a matter of days while this is coming up on one year.

I wasn't around for the CMC but from what I understand we were the closest to nuke war than ever before.

Re: Likelihood of a nuclear war?

We were at least still having dialogue with the Russians during the CMC so saner heads prevailed and crisis was averted. We're not even talking to Putin right now as we continue to isolate him and send lethal weapons to his enemies. This situation can go from bad to worse very quickly.

Re: Likelihood of a nuclear war?

Thank you for clarifying that and helping me understand how it is worse now.

Yeah, and how ironic that we went after Iraq under the false pretense that they had WMDs when this war is showing that we are the ones who really have them and use them all the ****ing time.

When it comes to the world and the weapons and dicktating to others that they have no rights to them, we really are the worst.
So far we are the only cuntry that has used nukes twice on innocent civilians so we have no right to tell others they can't do it.
Of course they shouldn't but why should they listen to our hypocritical ass?
Sure, it was wrong of Saddam to gas innocent civilian Kurds but it was not any more wrong when we do the same thing with drones and in war.
Those who are pro war USA will turn a blind eye to our own war crimes.

No chance

Re: Likelihood of a nuclear war?

Somehow I feel in this thread like back in the good ol' days when almost everyone panicked about Corona.
Crypt and WarrenPee deliver a good show, kind of screwball comedy.

Putin's throne seems to wobble more than expected.
