Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood : Kane Hodder was cursed with starring in the worst Friday movies

Kane Hodder was cursed with starring in the worst Friday movies

While he's widely acclaimed as the best Jason (runner-up would be C.J.Graham from Jason Lives), he also had the really bad luck of coming in when the franchise was running on fumes.

Wasn't supposed to be that way.

This was supposed to be the epic Freddy Vs. Jason movie (why Jason in Part 6 was chained and literally kept in storage until released).

But it didn't happen at that point.

And thus they had to come up with other stories, and they ended up being 100% filler.

Seriously, the ONLY good thing about these latter movies is Hodder. And the makeup and FX on this one (the latter ones don't even have that).

Re: Kane Hodder was cursed with starring in the worst Friday movies

Personally I think he did two of the best.

Ditto

The New Blood is the most entertaining movie in the whole series and Jason becomes truly iconic. The early films had a more serious tone but they were just a poor mans Halloween.

Re: Kane Hodder was cursed with starring in the worst Friday movies

The first 3(I'd probably add 4 too, but to a lesser extent) were more grounded. The middle 4-6(Again, 4 to a lesser extent) didn't know what they wanted to be. They were uneven, although I really enjoy them. What 7 did right, especially by using Kane Hodder, they finally went all out. If you're gonna use "Zombie Jason", just go all out... And 7 started that. I love what Hodder brought. I personally prefer 1-3. The atmosphere on the original is fantastic, it's something that was done right. I used to go camping with my family, we shared an old Cottage, run down, it had old appliances, thick woods, the Whole Nine Yards... Part 1 had all of that. When the films went to Cali, it lost any feel of the Northeast. Georgia and Alabama were OK but Canada was the best Stand-in. And again, the later films brought that back. For me, that's CRUCIAL. I have a certain spot in my love of Cinema and the Horror Genre for "Zombie Jason", because I was a kid when those came out and he terrified me. I have 3 older brothers and they tortured me lol... Part 7 started that.

well grounded and better. the first 4 are the best in this series. yeah the first 4 have better flow than any of the other films that followed.

but hey stop keep dragging part 4 into the criticisms you have about this series part 4 is a perfect film ok and it's the best film in this series. it's when they brought everything together perfectly that needed to be in a film in this series and everything is done at the highest level of quality.

you don't know what you are talking about when criticizing part 4.

it's interesting you saying zombie jason was the first jason you remember and got used to. bc my friend also said he started watching zombie jason also so he is used to that jason more than real jason.

who's ever said c.j. graham is one of the best jasons? or any of the actors except kane hodder? i mean the only reason we know about kane hodder is bc they've raved about his portrayals of jason. and everyone else who has ever played jason hasn't been raved about at all. jason made kane's career before he was just a stunt man no name.

the best jason is ted white in part 4 and c. j. graham in part 6 and the jason in part 2 and richard brooker in part 3.

what are you talking about? part 1 and part 4 have amazing makeup effects by tom savini that have never been equaled in this series since then. part 2 and part 3 have great makeup effects also. part 5 has great makeup effects.
