Steve Guttenberg : Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

I heard somewhere that in the 80s, the movies he was in earned over a billion dollars at the box office. Now, I do see that he's been working continuously since the 80s, but the last thing I even remember hearing about him being in is that 3 Men and A Little Lady sequel. After that, poof! Gone.

What the hell happened? He was a total A-list star.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

he burned his bridges with warners after leaving the police academy series and also trying to do more serious films which flopped

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

What? He did FOUR Police Academy movies! That franchise should have ended at 2! It's not like he was refusing to do a sequel to an epic franchise, Police Academy was dogsh!t by the time he was through. If anyone is burning bridges, it's 1908 companies that expect actors to stay "loyal" to garbage. Like how Elvis got screwed for dozens of films.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

According to this site he is still acting but you don't see him around much anymore, or at least don't hear about him. He was one of those actors who didn't get into drugs or drink and probably has saved up enough to not have to work if he doesn't want to. I'm guessing Lea Thompson did the same, to bring up another 80s star.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

really? is that the reason why he vanished so suddenly? kind of like megan fox right after she didn't agree to be in transformers 3 huh?

wait, what do you mean warner bros.? the police academy series was made by Paramount. I always thought he should've kept being in police academy films and I was always sad when I thought about and watched the police academy films without him.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

Police Academy movies were made by Warner Bros

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

not true, they were made by Paramount.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

Now I've trawled through the internet and CANNOT find one scrap of evidence to support that Paramount made the 'Police Academy' series.....so care to elaborate?

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

He was the young cute guy character...that can only last so long as you are yo b68 ung and cute. He got old...by Short Circuit *when he was 28* he'd already reached his used by date.

"He was the young cute guy character"

I guess you are right. At least he started in a ton of movies, made his money. He probably invested his money and living comfortably and doing an occasional job. That's what I want in my life.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

Jesus? Yes his race killed Jesus because they wanted to stop their "funny business"; stealing, mundering, homosex, babysex, bestiality and more.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

Yeah, and since they killed the SON OF GOD, just think what they'll do to your lameass. Better watch your back.

Re: Jesus, he sure fell off the face of the earth

exactly he vanished like no other star in movie making history. you know I can't ever remember someone big and so famous going away so suddenly. yeah, me too, the last thing I remember him working on was 3 men and a little lady until dancing with the stars a few years ago. but, he was never an a list star. he was at the best a B list star. he just was really hot from 1984 to 1988.
