Blaming Roosevelt for an unprovoked attack that no one saw coming is quite a leap. If you know your history it was the Republicans who were most opposed to getting involved in WW2 and prior to Pearl Harbor they would criticize Roosevelt for what they saw as him preparing the United States for war.

Getting rid of Biden and Harris is the appropriate strategy for dealing with Putin.

I think it would be good to stop NATO expansion. If that is appeasement I am fine with that. Given how far NATO has already expanded the United States can deploy troops right up to the border against Russia. It's not hard to understand why Russia would be wary of that. But NATO expansion is good for the defense industry.

And that’s the point, isn’t it? Russia regards the expansion of nato so close to their territory to be a threat. Would not we feel the same if our idealogical foe showed up outside of our door?

At the same time, Ukraine is a sovereign nation and can choose to whom its allied to.

We don't even have to imagine it. We spent the Cold War overthrowing governments in South and Central America because we thought they were too cozy with the Soviets and today the government and military worry about their relationships with China.

I don't think they really are surprised. They have to act surprised so they can pretend Russia is behaving irrationally and trot out the comparisons to Munich.
