I like a laugh as much as the next man

but how long is this face mask nonsense expected to last?

As I have probably said before, in times of stress folk like to pitch in and do something even if it doesn't work. Tear up bed sheets and boil water, AA guns in the streets, kill Jews etc etc. All good fun, but masks only stop bacteria and are useless against the Peking Pox which is spread by a virus. The only thing a mask does is give the wearer a face full of wet snot.

So a lot of the masks have smiley faces on them and are a bit of a laugh, but it is all getting a bit out of hand. When is this nonsense expected to end?

Re: I like a laugh as much as the next man

W just have to deal with it.

Re: I like a laugh as much as the next man

Not for awhile. This covid-19 is a really bad one.

Re: I like a laugh as much as the next man

Pardon me if I'm skeptical, but every time it looks as if the pandemic is fading someone comes up with a new strain, wave or variant from Brazil, India or Bumfuct, Egypt.

The virus has created the perfect excuse for autocrats to imprison an open society indefinitely and they are not going to surrender that power without a massive pushback from the general public who finally demands, "Enough is enough."

I went to a bar tonight, and nobody was wearing a fucking mask! I LOVED it! Fuck Fauci!

Do you mind saying which state that's in? I'd like to move there.

I'd rather a non-violent solution, to be honest.

I'm growing in confidence that the left will spend the next four years converting moderates into hard line conservatives and 2024 will be an unstoppable win for a Cruz/Trump Jnr/Crenshaw led GOP.

Yes of course, non violent, and I totally agree with you!

Heck yeah! How can you drink with a mask on?

And if you've been vaccinated, WTF do you still need to wear a fucking mask??

Re: I like a laugh as much as the next man

Well said. And the easiest way to push back would be for everybody to refuse to visit a store that insists on mask wearing. But none of us will do that, because we know we'd be making a stand on our own, and eventually we'd starve.

Re: I like a laugh as much as the next man

But you can. It requires either seeking out places that don't enforce (they exist everywhere- but it is very painful to find them) or moving somewhere rural with likeminded people. A sacrifice I made last year. When I moved I decided if any business asked me to put on a mask I'd leave and not come back. I get my milk from one guy, meat from a local processing place, and if I need packaged food, produce or cheese I go to the Amish market (they couldn't give a fuck about masks or anything else "The English" get upset about). I've gone into walmart/target/other big stores a few times but no one enforces mask wearing and maybe 40% of customers wear masks. That's a pretty good ratio compared to the city. I still hate going in even though no one cares if I mask or not.

Rural areas mean you can have space to grow food as well.

It's anxiety inducing to go into a store in another city and not know if you're going to get screeched at or not… but wearing a mask is uncomfortable too and at least if I go maskless I don't feel like I'm compromising my beliefs.

I did give in once, at a hotel where they shoved a mask in my face. I was too tired to cancel my reservation and find another place. They get you when you're weak…

Re: I like a laugh as much as the next man

We don't have any Amish markets in my part of the States…

All good points though, and I decided right at the start of the pandemic to become more rural. There are complications for me right now that mean choosing exactly where to move is almost impossible, but I'll never buy a home in a city of the burbs again.

Re: I like a laugh as much as the next man

You will have to give up time & convenience then and still buy rural. You can't put a price on your principles so it's worth it imo

EDIT: Ok, maybe you can. I just saw who I was replying to

Yes, I agree. I don't mind living miles from nowhere. It appeals to me, to be honest. I don't drink anymore so I can drive to restaurants etc if I want to socialize once in a while.

I agree, but moving to a rural location would free up finances for me, not reduce them, so it's a win win.

Sorry for whatever crime I've committed against you. I can assure you it was not intentional.

Until we individually and collectively tell the CoronaCowards
and the nanny statists and the high priests of "healthcare" to f8ck off.
I have worn a mask once in 2021, to visit someone in the hospital.
