Re: Gone with the wind

😺 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 🤨 Let's go, Brandon! 🤨 Try that in a small town.

Re: Gone with the wind

It was beautiful, but I can't believe I saw it.
It was the pandemic year, so I was bored.

Re: Gone with the wind

It's looooong (as is the novel) but worth it.

Re: Gone with the wind

It's incredibly racist.

Re: Gone with the wind

The epitome of the Hollywood system in acting and technical achievement.

The first two hours are thoroughly engrossing; the second two are a long soap opera of the marriage of Rhett and Scarlet and a chore getting to Rhett's classic last line.

The high point of the movie comes at the end of Part 1 when Scarlet raises her fist to the heavens and declares: As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.

The rest is anti-climax.

And This, Too, Shall Pass Away

Re: Gone with the wind

I don't like it.

Re: Gone with the wind

I know I'm generally in the minority on this, but I saw it once, on tv in the 1960s (back when stations used to run old movies), and I confess that I really didn't care for it much. But because so many love it, and because it is historically significant, I keep thinking I need to give it another look. At my age now, I might feel very differently. I will keep that in mind, and the next time I have a chance to watch it, I will.

Re: Gone with the wind

how old are you?

Re: Gone with the wind

Agreed

Re: Gone with the wind

Is that what happens when food passes through you? It's gone with the wind like a giant fart?

Re: Gone with the wind

I love that movie. Scarlet is such a tragic hero.
