Re: Freakishly Similar

Woah, that really is very similar. Fantasy worlds and everything

"What you don't like rice? Tell me Michael, how can a billion Chinese people be wrong?"

Re: Freakishly Similar

omg i thought of that too

Re: Freakishly Similar

I think that was a deliberate setup. Those girls simply wanted to kill somebody, and they knew about the Parker Hulme case and thought they could get away with it by claiming it was "for Slenderman" and that they had a fantasy world. They thought they could be declared "not guilty by reason of insanity". What they might not have known is that the insanity defense did not work -- it was demolished by the prosecution -- and that Pauline and Juliet were convicted and did time. I hope that happens here. Those two ought to be tried as adults.

Well, the city's being built and I'm winning this game. So don't interrupt us with trifles.

Re: Freakishly Similar

It could be a similar case of folie a deux.

Re: Freakishly Similar

Well, yeah, except with Parker & Hulme, folie a deux was the defense's argument in court and it got demolished by the prosecution. Their insanity defense did not work, that's how they got convicted and sentenced to prison instead of a mental hospital. (Frankly they were probably better off.)

If the truth can be told so as to be understood, it will be believed.

Re: Freakishly Similar

I do believe they were psychologically disturbed when things escalated to the murder. Due in part to their parents' interfering with their plans and the relationship, probably sexual or romantic, between the girls which was taboo then.
