Hume Cronyn : Finest Performance?

Finest Performance?

My personal favourite is his role as the devious and amoral banker Maxwell Emery in Rollover, directed by Alan J. Pakula. A truly brilliant, and stylish performance.

Re: Finest Performance?

How to pick a great performance from an actor who's versatility was so rich and commanding? I'm going to put in A LETTER FROM EVIE [1946] because he played the lead, he plays a nice character and the film is wonderful, but underrated.

And for a change of pace I'll put in THE CROSS OF LORRAINE [1944] because he plays a character so smarmy, arrogant and unpleasant.

His range was just remarkable.
