Sherman Hemsley : El Paso, Texas

El Paso, Texas

Sherman Hemsley lived on the eastside of the city, and yes, it was a nice neighborhood. He was a very nice man, and was more than happy to sign autographs, all you had to do is ask. He shopped at Albertson's and ate at the same Chinese restaurant we frequent. I'm sure he could have chosen any other place to live, but he was very happy here.

If you have never been to El Paso, don't criticize it. It is a nice place to live, and has a good part of town and a bad part of town, much like any other city.

We do have extremely hot summers, but little or no humidity. Get to know a little more about a place before you make judgements.

El Paso, Texas...ever heard of it?

Re: El Paso, Texas

I live less than 100 miles from El Paso and have been there many times. Yes, you do have very low humidity and hot summers. It's also in the top ten of US cities that get the most sunny days per year. One thing many people may not know about it is that it sometimes snows there in the winter. True, it is on the border with Juarez, which is considered to be one of the most dangerous cities in the world but so far, the violence there hasn't really spread to El Paso. I can see why Sherman Hemsley chose to live there.
