Food and Drink : Do you like to drink milk?

Sometimes there is nothing more satisfying than a super cold glass of milk. And 1% is my favorite.

I'm drinking a glass now is why I am posting this goofy question.

Do you like to drink milk and if so, do you prefer skim, 1%, 2% or whole?

Yes, sometimes I do. I usually drink 1 or 2 %.

I love pretty much most things lime flavored.

Milk though has to be whole for me, that is the more natural approach and taste to it. The trim/slim stuff has its goodness taken out, though I am not as much of a milk drinker as I used to be, but I do find it is good for a quick fix sustenance hit.

I drive by a farm occasionally that sells unpasteurized milk straight from the cows teet. For health legislation reasons it can't be sold as drinking milk though, only marketed as bath milk and not for human consumption. It is still fine to drink and is as creamy as, but it doesn't have a long shelf life before souring and is best used in baking/cooking.

It makes darn fine milkshakes.

I agree. I love lime flavor.

I never thought of skim milk as milk with the goodness taken out of it. I can see what you mean. Whole milk seems rather heavy to me. Though maybe for experiment's sake, I will go out and buy a quart and see how I like it. It has been forever since I drank whole milk.

We just call it full cream milk here, though mostly homogenized. We can get some extra creamy milk, in which the cream aspect isn't as separated, but it needs a good shake. I don't think ANY supermarket/store can sell unpasteurized milk.

With skim, it is more digestible for many which removes the fat globules out of it, but it just tastes a lot like white water to me and has additives too.

The best bet to make milk more digestible and keep it whole as possible, is to add equal amounts of spring water to the same amount of full cream milk and boil reduce it back to the original amount. One just has to wait for it to cool down though.

Well, I do like heavy cream in my coffee. There's a delicious richness and sweetness that cannot be replaced by anything else.

My same friend doesn't like skim milk for the same reason, that it tastes like water.

I don't often drink coffee, but I do like whipped pure cream in it too when I have it.

Skim just seems anemic and not nourishing enough for my strong digestive fire.

if i've eaten something sweet i must have a cold pint of milk to wash it down. whole milk…maybe spiked with some half and half or whipping cream. I often drown a slice of cake in milk or cream as well

I drink a cup or so whole milk every day.

I only use it on cereal. 2%.
