Re: Creepiest movie soundtracks.

My favorite is Tubular Bells from The Exorcist. It's my phone ring tone.

Re: Creepiest movie soundtracks.

That song always gives me an eerie feeling because of the movie it came from.

This is my ringtone every October:

Hands down, Tubular Bells! 👍

From The Night Walker.
I've always found it a little disturbing.

The Shining • first scene 1080p

Panther, did you know this music was from the 1830s? I forgot the composer's name. Kubrick's score for Clockwork Orange is also very old. Queen Mary's Funeral theme is from the 1200s.

Re: Creepiest movie soundtracks.

I think it was taken originally from Berlioz "Symphony Fantistique". Then they added the creepy howling in it.

Re: Creepiest movie soundtracks.

I liked the movie, but I felt some parts dragged on too long toward the end. And that they that should have had Jack's character go insane at a slower pace. The first scene when he met Mr. Ullman he seemed normal, then gets kind of strange in the car ride up to hotel with Wendy and Danny about the Donner Party.

Did you see the television miniseries they put out a while back?

Re: Creepiest movie soundtracks.

I think Stephen King's original plan for Wendy was she was more of a former cheerleader-type and a stronger character than Shelly Duvall portrayed.

Re: Creepiest movie soundtracks.

I didn't read it, but the movie looks good. I thought it was coming out this week? I guess they prolonged the release.

Re: Creepiest movie soundtracks.

Before I even opened your post, my first thought was "opening scene of Kubrick's The Shining." It is, without a doubts, one of the most perfect openings of a horror film.

When it aired on network TV for the first time I was 6 or 7 and was so scared my mom sent me to bed. We were both terrified of what we heard. As an adult I started renting every horror movie trying to find this movie. The closest I came was The Car 1977. The answer all along was The Shining.

Other movies have tried to use this score, but I can't listen to it without forever thinking of this particular movie.
