Cast Away : Chuck's rescue
Re: Chuck's rescue
Could have seen less island scenes and more rescue scenes I agree after awhile you just wanted him to get off the island
Re: Chuck's rescue
I agree! I always wondered who it was that called Kelly and she fainted. Was it Chuck or a rescuer?
But anyway, that would have been a very important scene!

Re: Chuck's rescue
It had to be Stan who called her. Stan was his co-worker at Fed Ex and flew home with him. And I also would have liked to see some rescue footage. Are there deleted scenes showing this?

Re: Chuck's rescue
I don't think the details would have added anything to the movie. The crew would have attended to his medical needs if required, given him food and water and a comfortable place to sleep, and notified shore personnel of the rescue.
On a ship of that size, there would have been at least a dozen healthy crewmen. A guy weakened from his ordeal on the raft would have been no threat to them.

Fowler's knots? Did you say ... fowler's knots?

Re: Chuck's rescue
The ship/barge would probably have a medic on board with medical supplies. Maybe even a doctor, I don't know. They could at least give him some medical attention until they got to shore. A B-12 shot perhaps.
Chuck's rescue
The shock of ship crew finding someone who pretty much looked like a caveman, but immediately helping him?
When he's eventually taken to the nearest mainland hospital and he reveals who he is and where he has been?
Wheras all we saw was a few strangers celebrating when he gets back to Memphis and Kelly's husband walking in to tell him that she's moved on.
Still a great movie, I just think we should have saw more rescue scenes.
