The media screwed it up, because everyone was following the case. Jurors couldn't be selected, who didn't have prior knowledge of it. There's always the fact that she got away with it, as a result of this.

The defense did a good a job. The prosecution wasted too much time berating Casey's character and not enough time proving beyond a reasonable doubt that she murdered Caylee. Yeah, we get it, Casey was an irresponsible mom, a compulsive liar and a tramp but none of that proves that she murdered her child. Of course, she probably did but there was still some room for doubt. While there was plenty of circumstantial evidence against Casey, there was no physical evidence against her. If I was on that jury, I would've had to acquit.

What was it about this Case that got all this attention?

Casey, she's the trashy girl next door everyone loves to hate.

It was pointed out during her trial that she got the words "Bella Vita" (Italian for "Beautiful Life") tattooed on her left shoulder weeks after her daughter went missing. She has the tattoo in some of the photos.

In any case they never proved a damn thing.

It's a strange choice for a tattoo when one's child is missing and possibly dead. Still, you're right, it doesn't prove she killed her kid but it does indicate strange behavior.
