Suggestions, requests, questions, and bugs :  Problems with Broad Flat Format

 Problems with Broad Flat Format

It's wider than the main board page. I haven't found a happy medium between the two yet.

We don't see the OP in replies. Maybe it should be there under an EXPAND.

The only thing I miss is the subject line on replies that is still available for alteration in composition. I do agree that if it ever comes back it should be optional. Meanwhile, I've stopped altering those subjects. Some have complained, so I'll only color my OPs.

Other problems noted since:

Starting a new topic often doesn't have a link back to the board you posted to. A link to General Discussion is often there instead.

What is keeping the format from working in legacy posts? The quoting of prior posts is not there and makes the format inconsistent.

@support

For the last twelve hours, the format has come up blank. Please let us know when it's working again.

Re:  Problems with Broad Flat Format 😞

Blank? Do you mean in the legacy posts? I know it happens in some of them that are missing dates but those should be relatively few.

Re:  Problems with Broad Flat Format 😞

It was coming up totally blank on current posts. All I saw was the line of links at the top of any thread I opened. The threads were marked as READ. Temporarily went back to nested and had no problems. No problems with broad flat so far today.

If you check the profiles, I believe you'll find that very few are using the new format.

Re:  Problems with Broad Flat Format

@support: The title of the thread in this format shoes up twice, once in plain text, once as a subject header. Filtered words are only applied to the second subject. The first is redundant, IMO.

I'm still thinking that very few use my favorite format, because I don't see complaints from anyone else.

F11 has been my solution for that happy medium.

I found another bug today. If the referenced quote is on another page, it goes nowhere. I'm active in a five-pager now and wonder what the challenge would be in a scroll option.
