yeah this animation sucks they changed it to like anime also different people are singing the theme song it the jonas brothers and i heard it they like annuniate the whole word so it sounds relly bad.

Although I'll try not judging it for the art, the new animation makes it look much less attractive to many. That is not good for the show at all.

I wish they kept it like season 1, the old animation was much better then what the new animation is. I really wish they would cange it back to the way it was. The dragons look gayish with the new animation.

We share your sentiments the animation is pretty bad but at least none of the voices were replaced. I would be more mad at that then the animation itself.

It looks like they're trying to make the show more Proud Family or something. Either way i hope this means everyone will stop watching the show so they cancel it. I'm not to fond of this show, it's pretty stupid.

I don't think it resembles "Japanimation" though I do agree that the animation of Jake (both human and Dragon forms), Fu Dog, and Lao Shi seem sloppier than the first season. Frankly, I bet if a newcomer saw this, and then saw a season 1 episode, s/he'd think it was the other way around and that they were just getting started.
If AmDrag makes it to Season 3, I hope they go back to the old-fashioned way.
Surprisingly, Trixie and Spud's appearance actually improved if you ask me, but that's it.

Ignore the anime comments. I have a theory that whenever someone doesn't like the animation designs of an american cartoon, they are quick to call it anime, which in fact isn't. I mean ppl complained that early designs of Looninatics was anime even though it didn't look like anime, but more like Bruce Timm's Batman Beyond art style. Ironically, the style they started using is closer than anime than the previous one.

Yep. I just started watching the show and when I saw the animation for season 1 I must admit I prefer Season 2. I guess it just depends on which you are exposed to first. I thought they looked a bit more defined in Season 2. Though I like the bulkier look to Jake when he is a dragon is Season 1.

I agree wholeheartedly. In an animation, when you change how the characters are drawn, you change everything. Its like replacing actors on a long running series with second rate actors. Imagine switching James Earl Jones to Gary Coleman for the voice of Darth Vader. It changes everything. Also I saw no reason to change the song at all. AJ's band rocks. I see this show getting the boot very soon.

I completely agree with the whole ER example. Another thing that i hate about the new season is the drab, depressing colors they choose. I love the story lines, dont get me wrong, but the animation takes away from the excitement of the show. How can you go and drastically change everything. That is like if George Lucas, after making Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, decided to can Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher only to have three new people play them. Its just not the same!! I wish there was somewhere we could complain to disney at.

I can understand them wanting to improve upon the animation or tweaking characters to make them appear older. But they didnt just tweak. They completely changed them. They should have stuck with what was working and put better writers in to add more interest. I really want to know why they changed the theme song. They had to pay these horrible kids to come in and redo a song that rocked.
I think they just made too many changes in too short a period of time. Disney wont change it but hopefully the show will get cancelled after this season.

i agree with you on that one the new animations are horrible and i think the ratings r going to go down because nobody is gonna watch it anymore cause all my friends say it is really bad too.

i agree with you almost all the waybut a show that has ran at least 1 seson and has gatherd so many fans from so many age groups should NOT change as mutch as it did.It is really stupid,I agree with all of the real American dragon fans in saying somthing has to be done!

its not just the animation thats changed, i tried watching a new one, about trixe becoming a cheerleader, and Jake asks foo dog if he has some magic potion that can just save the day all on its own instead them doing work, and instead of it being some novice mistake he made, foo dogs say it would take hum too long to make. i think disney got cheap and fired the whole crew and hired bums of the street for pennies a day

I HATE the new animation!!! At first I thought it was a joke when I saw the preview, but it turned out to be real (and a HUGE mistake) I agree, they better have good plots or else they may lose viewers.

Lose viewers? That's a laugh. They had 3.4 MILLION viewers watching the premiere for Bring It On. As for the better plots, you better believe it. They have certainly improved. Also, in case you haven't noticed, American Dragon is on The Disney Channel more often than it was in the first season (Season 1 was at most of the time on Saturdays and the half episodes were after a movie).

ohh please grow up I have seen worse animation than Season 2 of ADJL and even though it looks different it doesn't affect me becuase I still like watching it. Now if only disney releases the season 1 on DVD.
