The Politics, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead message boards definitely had something to do with the shut down.

Yup. Too many of these "anti-PC" crybabies bitching over stuff like black and female jedis, white characters being played by black actors (i.e. Jimmy Olsen, Johnny Storm). People like Cezar having beef with lesbian characters. Even this forum alone having racists like Rebuild_Reclaim condoning black genocide (with Bragis and Hardcore backing him up with "facts" and "ratios").

Well, you think you know what's behind the decision based on what you don't like to see, but those are all legitimate complaints. Every show nowadays has to have a homosexual? Why? Every casting director should feel free to take any pre-established character and change their race? Look into "The Honeymooners" film from not many years back to see how that film went down and ask ANY fan of the original (me included) what they think of it- not just those who might have something against blacks. It was a bad idea as a fact and the movie flopped.
How did the admins expect the boards to go? posters just talking like Siskel and Ebert or Ebert and Roeper? We are living in a time in which people's political, anti-political, sexual, racial (etc) opinions are stronger than ever, and all that business will get into the boards. It just will. So I guess they are going with the old saying, "If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen (message board managing)". They were asking for trouble by boards like "Politics" and "Religion and Spirituality" and "Soapbox". Those boards will draw more posters who will spread those kinds of opinions on not only those boards, but the others as well.
I must say I've seen some pretty questionable moderating on these boards. They delete some posts and allow others to stand when they are all fighting posts. I can't figure them out except to say they must feel too overwhelmed, and if they would say "We have better things to do than to babysit a bunch of idiots on message boards", then everyone has better things to do than to manage any message board. Maybe if they have more volunteers. I would volunteer! Just ask for some and they will come.

I thought this boards improved lately. not as many trolls around. yeah, TomRocks is a little silly but he does ask on topic questions and gavin isnt as bad as he used to be. the real culprits here are posters like someone named Cardinal42(its like her 5th name). she frequents the law and order SVU board as well as other shows. shes a mean hurtful woman who will wish harm upon you if you dont agree with her. its people like her who do nothing but cause trouble on these boards as to why theyre being discontinued.

I think it's incredibly short-sighted to shut down any board (let alone an entire sea of them) just because thre are trolls. The Ignore button exists to specifically deal with thoe type of people that you don't like/can't stand.

Blame the sensitive snowflakes that make a hobby out of reporting people.
They should've have sent out a notice saying we won't police these sites anymore and enter at your own risk. This is the problem with the PC culture. People think they should never feel offended. That's not how life works and you have 3 choices on how to deal with people you don't like. ignore certain people or threads, deal with it or don't come here at all if you feel so offended.

No. That's not how life works at all. You can also report those people. A fourth option.
Besides, the people who get reported aren't some straight shooters being silenced by the man. They're usually racist, sexist, homophobes. Movie messageboards are no place for that nonsense. And there's no need to defend that nonsense either.

And that happens here [on the message boards], they talk about hurting a whole race (i.e. condoning genocide). I've noticed that the posters that say things like "Only pussies do that." are the ones that need to be ignored or reported the most.
