Margin Call : What is the chronology of Jared Cohen calling Tuld + letting him know?
Re: What is the chronology of Jared Cohen calling Tuld + letting him kno
Both Cohen and Tuld are far more immerse with the MBS trade than Tuld let on during the boardroom meeting. Tuld's act of asking Sullivan to speak in a very non-technical manner is for the benefit of the REST of the boardroom. So it could be as simple as this:
Cohen: John, I think you need to get down here as soon as possible.
Tuld: Explain.
Cohen: Risk just found that the MBS pool we still have on book may be worthless.
Tuld: Understood, on my way.

Very good post.
I got the same impression that Tuld was far more aware of what was going on with the MBS market than he let on.
Sam seems to come to this realization later when he states "you're obviously operating with more information that I have."

In the meeting with Tuld though, Tuld and Jared both indicate that they have spoken about the specific figures that Peter revealed. That would have taken longer than a few seconds.
So when and how did Cohen and Tuld have the longer conversation about the report?
