Clerks : Wasn't Randal ever afraid of getting beat up?

With the abusive way Randal treated random customers, why wasn't he ever afraid of one of them coming back later to kick his butt (or punching him out on the spot)? I mean he's pretty slim, probably never worked out or played sports (other then the occasional game of street hockey here and there) and could barely even hold his own against Dante when they fought at the end. Surely a guy with his attitude and who was pretty much all talk about everything else in his life would've gotten beat up quite a few times for mouthing off to the wrong person

If I ever see him again, I'm gonna break his frickin neck!

Randal is resembles the kind of guy most people would like to be like but we know we would get in trouble for be like him. Randal was a raunchy mouthed idiot that resemble the kind of person people would like to be like in real life but fully aware that the stuff he does would lead to bad consequences in real life.

Actually you'd be surprised how many posers there are. Guys who try to look mean and intimidating but when they come across a guy who isn't scared of them and gives them sh!t they don't know how to handle it.

On the other hand however, I know what you mean. I worked with some questionable people in my time and the ones I found to be the shortest tempered and quickest to anger was construction workers. Those guys are facking beasts man! They wil hurl your ass over a 10ft wall if you p!ss them off.

I guess Randal had the good sense to pick and choose his audience.
