You know why there were less people at Trump's inauguration that Obama's? Because Trump supporters are at work. Something Obama supporters wouldn't know about.

Jo I was going to say that earlier but didn't. I was also going to add that the welfare recipients must have been dropped off for a field trip at Obama's first Inauguration (hence why there were so many) haha.

No federal workers were at work. Washington is a company town and Inauguration Day around the metro area is always a federal holiday. Something about keeping locals off the streets.

yeah, I call BS on all these people who claim they didn't watch it. Even if you don't like who is getting inaugurated - it is still an important, momentous occasion - watching the transfer of power from one leader to another in the country that leads the free world. I don't care who it was who was up there on Friday - I would have watched the inauguration given the opportunity to do so.

Again, all these like the OP and others who claim they didn't watch - they watched it. We all know they did. If anything, why wouldn't they watch in support of the people who were there in attendance who they do like?

I was confused by the assertion that the inauguration Of BO was much better attended but they always stated in 2009. Does that mean the 2013 was not?

The inauguration of Obama in 2009 was attended by 1.8 million (estimate). His 2013 inauguration was attended by 1 million (estimate). The official numbers for Trump aren't in yet, but I've read that it was anywhere from 250,000 - 900,000. Estimates are also saying more people showed up for the Women's March than Trump's inauguration.

According to Neilsen ratings, there were 30.6 million viewers for Trump's inauguration vs. 37.8 million for Obama's 2009 inauguration vs. 41.8 million for Reagan's in 1981. But this is for TV viewing only & does not include online viewing.(And Trump is taking credit for more viewers since online viewers can't be counted)

I would think people would compare it to 2009 because it was the all-time high. Nobody would even be discussing this if Trump hadn't come out & lied. It's not the numbers I'm concerned with, but Trump's need to lie about something so petty.

I don't like it either yobets but there seems to be an agenda here. His rebuttals of anything and everything seem to be a message of some sort. I know what the left will say, but I really am curious. I was taught in my strict Lutheran background to turn the other cheek. I rarely oppose a slight, insult or bully. He has me thinking about my pacifist stance and silence. Truly. I DVR'd it as I was at work all day (and no one had it streaming, no TV on - nothingno one cared). I watched some of it at night - who was arriving, and then listened to his cringe-worthy speech about 'American Carnage'. Dear God, we are in for a horrible four years.
