Deep Impact : 5000 kilotons per nuke?

why not just say 5 megatons?

just got done watching this, and was wondering the same thing. Did you see the size of those nukes, pretty small for 5000 kilotons.

Right. There's no way 20 megatons would just split the comet in two. That much explosive force is thousands of times greater than the one that flattened Hiroshima

5000 Kt is MUCH bigger than 5 Mt. You can tell it's got more zeroes!!!
