it is a hard decsion becuz both movie are helping kids get out of gangs and turn there lifes around so i cant decided which one

Tuffy tuffy tuffy.
I did REALLY enjoy Coach Carter and Samuel L was superb in it.
But likewise the Rock was Fab in Gridiron Gang.
Both great movies but Coach carter edges it SLIGHTLY

same damn movie, really. just a different sport. both were way to predictable. and i am a rock fan and a sam jackson fan.

I saw both. In a lot of ways they were very different. Honestly, it felt that "Gridiron Gang" had more heart.

it did have more heart cuz when i watched Gridiron Gang i felt like cryin in many parts but nothin came out. watchin Coach Carter was like its just like any other movie

Gridiron Gang was better. But all of these types of movies are getting pretty tired.

I felt Coach Carter was more inspiring, but Gridiron Gang was more moving (clearly more gritty, more deaths). Acting was better in grid gang aswell.

I'd say Coach Carter, because it was easier to relate to the characters in play. Maybe i'll get stonned for this, but i think that in gridiron gang, there were parts when the story didn't provide enough depth for the characters, for example: When "Junior" was interdoced he was this hardcore bully, suddendly he joins the team, gets injured and becomes some kind of team spiritual mentor somewhat. Then again, watching the short video photoage of the real institue seemed to be very accurate as portrayed in the movie.

I'm so glad someone else said this. I didn't dislike the movie per se, it was decent but I just didn't connect to the characters in this one. For example, the boy who stabbed the old lady or whatever, I didn't feel sorry for him later. They didn't develop the characters on the team enough for me. I usually like these type of movies but this one never clicked with me.
So Coach Carter for sure. I immediately connected with that one. I'm sure there were things better about Gridiron gang, but overall I don't think it's better than Coach Carter by a long shot.

JUST watched it after having wanted to see it for some time and I was amazed.
I don't think I have ever got into the characters as much as I did in this movie. Wow it was awesome. A++++

Gridiron Gang all the way, I thought that Coach Carter was decent-needed more emotion.

Coach Carter. I think part of my decision has to be with the fact that the players in the Grid Iron Gang are harder to get behind because of their wreckless backgrounds, and i can relate more to the kids in coach carter.

I hope they make another sports movie asking kids to stop gangbaning. It will help out a lot of kids if they do.

I'd have to say Gridiron GangI only saw Coach Carter one time and i don't remember being that impressed with it (if I don't remember, that says a lot)ppl on other threads that were trashing Gridiron Gang say that it had too many cliches but I think Coach Carter had way moreexcept for Samuel Jackson and Ashanti's BF the acting was mediocre in CC; The Rock & Xzibit were actually pretty good in GG and so was the rest of the castI'm gonna go back and watch CC again just to be surefor now it's GG all the way!!!!!!!!

Coach carter by a long shot
Our class had to watch both movies and we all loved CC.
But anytime one of our classmates mentioned GG, we all groaned and cracked jokes at how bad it was.
There was not a single moment in GG that touched me. I felt nothing for the characters because they were poorly developed. Our whole class predicted how the story would go:
Main character wants to turn around the lives of troubled kids.
The kids reluctantly agree.
They lose the first match.
Main character gives them a "I believe in you" speech backed with inspirational music and they all start winning again.
Two rivals must work together "we have to put our differences aside dawg"
A shootup will happen to hold teenagers attention.
They have to verse the team they played at the start of the season.
They win in a slow motion, last second touchdown.
The kids are all good now.
and of course our predictions were exactly right.

I think Gridiron Gang has deeper and more affecting messages, but I'm partial to the high school atmosphere in Coach Carter. I'll say they're equally good in different ways.
