Bad Teacher : Can someone explain to me why Cameron Diaz is considered hot?

I've never really thought she was "hot", but she's not ugly either. Plus, she's almost 40. But, if you watch some of her older movies, I think you'd understand more on how she got her reputation. Especially in Vanilla Sky, she wasn't that bad looking in that. But I do agree, currently she shouldn't be in the hot category at all.

You forgot to mention that she has a leathery man-face that seems to be melting off her skull.

I understand the argument the OP is making based on certain societal standards, but to be fair she was pretty damn sexy in the 90's. "Mary" definitely did it for me, but of course part of that was in the personality of her character. I've never found her ultra-hot, but sexy she certainly was, and still is in some ways.

I'm not going to comment on her "butterface", but I would say that facially she does not appear to be aging well. To her credit however she isn't running to a cosmetic surgeon every time a line, wrinkle or sag appears on her body like most Hollywood people tend to do. I'd wager that she's pretty much all natural, and that really is quite refreshing. And yes, as the previous poster stated: Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. Trite, but true!

Butterface implies that her body is hot everything is hot "but her face." So you saying she has no chest and no butt means you think she has an ugly face, not a butterface. Thought I'd drop some knowledge on you.

The attractive thing about this woman is she has the "Girl next door" appeal. Every movie I have seen her in she just continues to get better looking. Out of all the stars there are only a few I would love to meet and she is in my top 5.

Personally I only thought she looked good in The Mask, and as someone else mentioned the character she played in There's Something About Mary was attractive, but she has aged poorly and I would guess she got some bad surgery, but since she was once upon a time genuinely attractive they keep adding her to these "sexiest" lists. The same with Lindsay Lohan, who's looked awful for the past 3 years or so.

And even though Diaz still looks pretty beat up to me, I still thought she did a good in Bad Teacher. I've hated practically every other movie I've seen her in save for The Mask, Mary, and Malkovich and usually file her under "bad actress" but she did a good job in BT, so that's saying something.

Not sure I can explain it, but yeah, I find her hot!!! Hottest around? No, but she's still a hottie. As far as just looks, her hottest movie was The Mask, her body was absolutely smokin as Jim Carrey would say in that movie. I always thought she lost weight since then, including in the "sexual areas"(breasts, ass).

As far as overall hotness(looks, personality, sex appeal), her best movie was as many have said There's Something About Mary. She was gorgeous in the movie, plus she was a dream girl for most guys.a beautiful girl that loves sports and just wants to hang out at the golf course or sports bar and have a good time. And no I don't know her of course, but she seems like she would be like that in real life. She sorta acts dorky but something about her makes it cool and she's able to pull it off. I don't know what it is, like I said, maybe I can't explain itbut she just seems to have to have that certain it factor.


I personally prefer a curvier woman alsobut there is no way I'd not be attracted to Cameron Diaz or a woman like her. She's sexy, fun, beautiful, smart, sweet and seems to bring the whole package.

Her two sexiest roles were in Vanilla Sky and The Mask. If you didn't think she was sexy in those movies then you have issues. However, I don't think she's the best looking female in Hollywood but for what she lacks, she certainly makes up for it with her charming personality.

She's super hot, I'm gay, and I think she has a pretty face, super hot legs, and I dunno she just exudes sex appeal, btw she's a woman, not a mannequin, so don't expect perfection of any human!

Blame The Mask for it. If you see that movie, you'll notice that she was a bombshell back then. Afterwards, I think it was a matter of personality and that giggly smile of hers. I do not think of her as hot now but she holds herself right.

There were moments in the film where she looked pretty, but not a lot of them. Lets be honest, Cameron hasn't aged that well. She was smokin' in "The Mask", but things have crept downhill from that point on.

I guess she has become the spokeswoman for older women who still believe they're hot. They're the ones fueling these kind of roles for Ms. Diaz, it's not guys.

As mentioned there are older/mature women who are still attractive; Kate Winslet and Gillian Anderson. Others include Diane Lane, Winona Ryder, Eva Longoria, Alyson Hannigan, Krista Allen, Ali Larter, Michelle Monaghan and Carmen Electra.

Now I would've enjoyed this movie more if Electra was in Diaz's part. She could've pulled it off better. Or maybe Longoria. I can see both in the role real easy.

She is tall with long legs, blonde, and perky. That's really about it. Perkiness helps guys imagine an "exciting" time with her, and women try to relate to that. MTV ate her up in the late '90s and it just got buoyed by "Charlie's Angels" into the next decade. The perkiness worked for certain roles like that one, while she was considered daring for taking roles like "Being John Malkovich" and "Vanilla Sky".

I've been saying this for 15 years.

She is the worst "actress" of my generation and how she continues to get cast as "the hot chick" when shes 41 and very average looking (by Hollywood standards) is beyond me.

No curves? Are you blind? Diaz has one of the best bodies in Hollywood. And considering she is over 40 now and almost twice as old as she was in "The Mask" she still looks amazing. Especially when compared to much younger actresses like Jennifer Lawrence or Scarlett Johansson who already show signs of cellulite, Cameron is still as tight as fvck.
Also Diaz has greatly developed her acting skills in the last years. The talent she first showed in "Being John Malkovich" might soon get her a juicy dramatic role and maybe even Oscar chances.
