Sorry dude, I have nothing against porn either. But don't you think that cock shots and nudity would cheapen the film, and take away from the legitamacy of the story? The problem with most gay themed films is that they obssess and focus too much on the sexuality, perpetuating the belief that being gay is only about getting off, and seeing naked men. And all the sex in gay film alienates straight people from seeing them, and therefore understanding a lifestyle that they don't know. Yeah, it is a shallow world for the most part, but some of us actually still have someting inside. The point of this film was to show a bond between two guys, based on emotion, and not simply sexual attraction. This is why 99 percent of gay films suck; they mostly portray gays as coke snorting cock suckers, or dumb queens. It's pretty depressing, but maybe it explains why there is still so much hatred against gays in our society.

Sometimes, the lowest common denominator does tend to raise it's head on the boards ;P

Just finished watching german version so I dont understand any of what they said except a few english words. Still the film bends my steel heart into tears I was just wondering was Jagger set upon by his fellow soldier who thought he was having some kind of relationship with his girlfriend. I know he only helped her find his contact lens but as I dont speak German I dont know when the two men talked to each other before they set out for their mission. By the way, I did not see any sex scene only kissing in the beginning and snowball fights.. was it censored?

No, it wasn't censored, only conservative. A full sex scene was not shown, only hinted at strongly. but we know what they did out there in the snow. But on the other hand, as beautiful as the sex scenes are in "the Bubble", Fux's latest, you don't always have to have full frontal nudity to make a point.

Sex takes place off-screen. The horseplay sequence in the snow suddenly cuts to shots of the other soldiers hanging around in the bunker and doing petty tasks, and when we return to the two sweethearts they are already zipping up. So everything is left to your imagination.
