Blue Velvet : The only problem with this movie is the directing

I'm not finished watching this 1986 movie "Blue Velvet"; I can say it's very very very good, however it's flawed, and in my opinion 95% of the flaws come from the directing who is truly average in my opinion The director didn't understand the script at all, someone like Quentin Tarantino or Milos Forman would have done and incredible work who would have done justice to the brilliant script

David Lynch is a master of making films. He takes stuff he sees in dreams and whatnot and puts it on screen. He is amazing actually. He has his own certain style of directing.

What didn't the director understand about the script? He wrote it for Christ's Sake! It was his original idea and presentation and quite possibly his masterpiece. How many other David Lynch films have you seen?
