Saturday Night Live : Would you watch an SNL network?

Would you watch an SNL network?

Watching the Carrie Fisher episode had me pondering an SNL network. Would you watch it? All the seasons, all the shows, uncut. For filler the SNL movies like Waynes World, Roxbury or Three Amigos could air. Maybe the collection episodes like SNL Christmas, SNL Halloween or SNL Musical Guests could also be run. How about SNL alum Stand Up performances?

When VH1 or Comedy Central air SNL marathons, it is usually an one hour edited edition with the cold opening, monologue, two skits, a shortened Update and one song aired. How about the whole episode? Could there be forgotten about sketches that are still topical, relevant and hilarious that don't get shown because they compete with "Cheeseburger", Motivational Speaker or Daily Affirmation sketches in reruns?

Any scholar of SNL has heard about how bad the Jean Doumanian years are, but have you actually ever watched any of these episodes? Wouldn't it be something to watch the Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Downey Jr years? I think there are lost treasures of SNL that could still shine. I'd watch an SNL network.

Re: Would you watch an SNL network?

I wish that, they would put out SNL Season 1980-1985 DVD.

Re: Would you watch an SNL network?

I would watch it. That Carrie Fisher episode sucked so bad. And people talk about how great those episodes were. But they sucked.

Re: Would you watch an SNL network?

I'd watch.

And I've always said that I think the SNL from the 1970's is overrated. It might be a generational thing though.
