Powerless : How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

It's really kind of frustrating, this conceit of shows set in the DC Universe, sometimes related to Batman/Gotham itself that have this understanding, either stated or otherwise, that we can never see Batman.

Birds of Prey (except for 15 seconds, uncredited in the pilot)
Smallville
Arrow/Flash DCTV Universe
Gotham

And now a show about Bruce Wayne'scousin?!

Do you realize that save for the prologue of the Birds of Prey pilot, featuring a Batman without any lines and whose actor is still not confirmed by IMDB, we haven't had a fully realized live-action Batman on television since Adam West?!

Superman being featured on Supergirl dissolves every single argument against putting Batman on TV. He's too big for the small screen (not if you doing it right), TV doesn't have the budget (yes he does), if he appears as a supporting character on another show he'll overshadow the main character and have to appear all the time (no he won't), there's an ongoing cinematic franchise, this would confuse people (no it won't. Stop treating us like we're stupid).

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

It's retarded as f^ck already and now the show actually looks stupid too? Nice move DC. Nice.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

Ben Affleck isn't going to cameo in this. He's not.

Batman can't be in Gotham.

But you can't go cheap on the Batsuit.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

Well the Superman in Supergirl is not the same as in the movies so

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

Exactly. If we can have one Superman in the movies and one on TV, we can easily have two Batmans. It's not hard.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

Exactly. Just like The Flash from the current tv show is not going to be the same Flash from the upcoming movies. I am also annoyed that they never use Batman.

Didn't you F her BF when you two were BFFs?

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

A kids show about Ace the Bat hound, but.. not featuring Bruce Wayne!

Whatever you are, be a good one.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

Batman is too cool for tv.

But seriously, I'd like to see him on the small screen too.

Evil batman

We might get Owlman on the TV verse before a batman.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

Batman's vigilante justice doesn't mix with comedy.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

Since its a comedy, just cast Nathan Fillion as Bruce Wayne/Batman.. that will work on many levels :)

Life is a joke, but atleast its a good one.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

"just cast Nathan Fillion as Bruce Wayne/Batman"

I had no clue how much I wanted that until just reading that

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

As much as I'd love to see Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk together again, has he trimmed down since Castle? He was getting rather portly there.

If not, they'd have to spend half their digital effects budget on giving him a digital face lift and body reshaping, or cast him as a middle-aged Batman.

The probably can only mention Batman and can't add him to the show, though, because CBS/Warner/CW have the rights to DC characters.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

I wish he would show up on tv that is some crap. WB thinks it will confuse audiences well if we can have a movie Superman AND a TV Superman than surely it can work with Batman. UGH.

Lose the Game!!!!!!!

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

How was Smallville even remotely related to Batman? Ditto Arrow/Flash. Do we really need Batman in everything? I mean he was in Justice League Dark for crying out loud!

It was made with great skill and care into a movie you don't like.

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

I'm not sure "exclude" means what you think it does. Batman is mentioned quite a bit, his cousin is in charge of the office, and Batman was the subject of a lot of jokes in the first episode. As this isn't Gotham, I'm not really sure why it needs Batman in the first place..

Re: How many more shows have to explicitly exclude Batman?

if you're talking about bruce wayne, he kinda IS in gotham. gotham's an extended bruce origin story.
