Rings : Opening Scene on the Plane?

Opening Scene on the Plane?

Did I miss another reference to this scene? What was the point of it? It was a great scene, probably the best in the movie, but what the hell happened? I kept expecting a character from the plane to come back and offer advice to the two boring protagonists but that never materialized. If everyone on the plane saw the video, and presumably the plane crashed (?), I feel like another character would have brought it up. At least in a throwaway line like, "Remember that time 300 people saw this video on Spirit and it kind of *beep* up their vacation."

Re: Opening Scene on the Plane?

In the very beginning after the crash when Johnny Galecki and Aimee Teegarden are at the yard sale, he says "this guy died in a plane crash and his parents are selling all his stuff" that's where he gets the VCR with the cursed tape In it.

Re: Opening Scene on the Plane?

I'm surprised you thought it was great. I was hoping for it to be epic, but it was terrible. I think the editing was the worst part about it.

Re: Opening Scene on the Plane?

I thought it was too rushed. I wished they dragged it out a bit and tied better with the rest of the movie like there being a survivor. Perhaps either Julia, Holt, or Gabriel could have been on it. The scene was like less than five minutes. It should have been about ten minutes.

Re: Opening Scene on the Plane?

That opening sequence on the plane was a total banger.

Happy Birthday, ya fine-ass sexy bitch!
