Life on Mars : Third time Chills

Third time Chills

Just finished watching Life on Mars for the third time and I still get chills at the end. If only American TV could be half as good.

Idris: Biting's excellent! It's like kissing. Only there's a winner.

Re: Third time Chills

It is if you know where to look. All my examples of such are HBO shows - The Wire (first and foremost), The Sopranos, Oz, Band of Brothers, The Pacific I want to say Boardwalk Empire but the third season took a big step down in my opinion.

Re: Third time Chills

Have you seen the American version of Life on Mars? I seem to recall it had a happier ending which may not be your cup of tea.

Re: Third time Chills

I quite liked the US version, it had its own charm and original end

Re: Third time Chills

I completely agree.
JUST finished watching the whole series again and am blown away.
It keeps getting better.

I can't really think if ANY American show that has such an impact on me or that I loved so much.
Including the ones mentioned above.

At the moment I do rather like 'The Americans', but its nowhere near as good as this.

Amazing story, wonderful script, superb lines, fantastic acting, all good.

Complaining about mistakes is almost as bad as complaining about complaining about mistakes.

Re: Third time Chills

You guys definitely have not watch enough American drama's. While British series are way ahead in comedy, they are not in drama's series.

Re: Third time Chills

and you definitely havent seen enough british dramas. America make so much tv they have to hit the target by scattershot every now and then, UK aim for the target.

Re: Third time Chills

As far as I am concerned the British are way ahead in both comedy and drama and have been for decades.

Re: Third time Chills

Americans: You British don't have enough good chocolate.

British: You Americans don't have enough good peanut butter.

Two great cultures. Same great television.

How dare you insult British chocolate!!! ;)

Re: Third time Chills

As an American I got tired of the misanderous, feminist point of view. If women were portrayed As Men are in most American shows the fem Nazis would be burning networks to the ground.
I refuse to watch most American tv, it's garbage compared to British, New Zealand and Australian tv. Drama or comedy I will take any of the empires members television over American.
