The Walking Dead : Rick and Michonne pushing their way through the herd

May have been one of the dumbest scenes to ever appear in this show. I understand that in the past 2 years zombies have become less threatening because the group has learned how to efficiently kill them, but that doesn't mean that they should be so weak that you can shoulder your way through 30 of them like a NFL running back plowing through a defensive line of 5th graders. Michonne wasn't even using her sword, just using her sheath to nudge them. and several of them were clutching at Rick yet he didn't receive a single scratch. If zombies are this weak and can be killed en masse so easily, you have to wonder how nobody has managed to clear out a major metropolitan city yet.

Well you also have to take into consideration that the zombies are decomposing, so they are weaker and slower than the zombies in the beginning of the outbreak. Thats why major threats to rick and his group have been from other humans.

Dont get me wrong, I thought it was corny also but Ill let it slide. After all this time im so invested in the show that it would take something extremely ridiculous for me to give up on it.

Ok how about this. Negan and Rick battle it out in the season finale and Rick wins. But instead of killing Negan, Rick convinces him to come over to the good side, they join together and fight an even bigger menace than Negan was. Would that be stupid enough for you?

If rick started playing an old style organ while negan sings "take me out to the ball game" with black face on while doing the charleston. Then ill give it 15 more minutes.

Thought the same. The show is doing a bad job in giving the zombies coherent abilities. Sometimes one can drive a car through it, sometimes not. Sometimes just getting close means getting grabbed and death, but sometimes one can just push through. Sometimes three walkers in a room mean certain death, sometimes one can just walk past them. This is why there is no tension in the walkers anymore: they are just some deus ex machina element, leading to whatever outcome the writers want, no matter what abilities the characters have aquired or not.
And it was so unnecessary, they could just have had some stray flocks walking ahead, which would have made the disarming scene much more interesting. But this show never really comes up with a geometry of the scenes. Zombies just teleport to whereever they are needed.

I agree with the OP..totally ridiculous, it is about point #10 on my list of things wrong with this episode. I'm afraid things won't get better until the actual war starts in season 8. At least they are not still sorry sad-sacks! That is what made 7a so bad!

Season one that herd would have killed em all (back when it was a show about zombies).

Now they're just a back drop.

The show doesn't live in a vacuum. It's based off of something, and the exact same thing happens there. Stop blaming the show.

So, by your logic, the show gets a free pass to do what it does because it's based on a story from another medium where the logic of story does suck?

Yes they would have I love the season 1 zombies they were running and everything.

I always felt that saying the walkers are weaker now because they've been decomposing is not really a good excuse. It's as if people think that all those Walkers have been around since day 1. I am sure plenty of them are people who keep dying.
