NCIS: Los Angeles : The end of NCIS:LA?

The end of NCIS:LA?

Clues

1. Now appearing Sunday night, the place shows are sent to die.

2. Several story lines appear to be wrapping upa)Callen's father, b)the Mole, c)whither Densi.

Hetty and Granger seem to be ill or dying or about to be fired. Take your pick. What would NCIS:LA be without without the nearly supernatural abilities of Hetty? Callen is good, but he's no Hetty.

p.s I don't want it to die. Too many of my favorite shows have. I even like goofy Deeks. Sorry.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Don't buy it. Ratings are better this year than last. The mole is only one story line; it's not necessary for the show to continue. Hetty doesn't look as if she's going anywhere. Granger wasn't an original cast member. Callen's father story may be wrapping up, but there's plenty of life in Anna. :-)

NCIS LA IS A GREAT CBS Program that should keep going!

I wish that CBS would arrange to have NCIS LA returned to THEIR Regular Thursday Evening. It's a wonderful show, each Episode has action, intrigue, suspense, problem solving; NCIS LA pretty much has it all. I think CBS should renew all the main characters contracts and keep this program going for 70 Seasons.
It's just our opinion at least because we are faithful fans. We've even bought the Many, many Season's of NCIS LA'S DVD Collection and we are glad we did because when there's nothing on cable that we haven't seen before; then we can all watch this great assemble of actors/Friend's. Thanks for the memories, we are loyal to NCIS LA?; Hope they're more to come?.

Re: NCIS LA IS A GREAT CBS Program that should keep going!

Thursday would be suicide. The show could never compete with the big guns of scandal, how to get away with murder abd greys anatomy. It's better on a Sunday where the only competition it has in its time slot is madam secratary. As long as it dint in the same time slot as once upon a time, it has no real competition for viewers.

When I submitted my comment, smiley face turned into a question mark!

What the hay! I added a couple of smiley imoji's inside and after my sentence, then I submitted my comment and AUTOMATICALLY MY IMOJI'S TURNED INTO TWO QUESTION MARKS ! Not cool. Maybe I should A a question mark and this site will turn it into a smiley imoji. It really messed up my " positive " comment that I was leaving!!!

Re: When I submitted my comment, smiley face turned into a question mark!

If you're using the mobile site, the emojis don't function. You have to be on the desk site.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

well a lot of people were initially under the impression that NCIS:LA is ending because it was recently moved to sunday nights which apparently is notorious for being the "death" timeslot for alot of shows. But if you look at the actual ratings for the show's recent season, it is actually getting higher ratings in its new sunday timeslot compared to its previous seasons aired on monday nightsso I wouldn't dismiss this show just yet. The fact that this show is actually getting higher ratings on sunday nights might give CBS the incentive to keep this show alive on sunday nights.

And there's still plenty of room for new storylinesI don't think NCIS:LA is "dying" at all, I can still see it lasting for at least another few more seasons.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Friday nights are usually the schedule considered the death slot for a lot of shows.

Once it gets re-scheduled to Friday night you might want to be worried.

So what if certain storylines are being wrapped up? There is always more story to tell.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Tell that to Hawaii Five O. It got moved to Fridays what, 5 years ago?

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Please after Michael Weatherlys departure from ncis, the new additions just isn't working for me!!
This is coming from a fan from day 1, and i just can't get into ncis New Orleans for some reason!!
SO PLEASE KEEP LA GOING!!

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

I think there's a good chance NCIS:LA will at least get another season or a few more its ratings are better this season =)

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Don't believe it:

Ratings are up and I think it's because they FINALLY put Densi where it belongsout of sight (now they can just dump it in the trash)

Callen's father may be old, but Anna sure isn't . . . and I'd much rather see Callen and Anna than Callen and Dad.

Hetty seems in fine health just a little depressed about the mole; Granger seems not long for the series which is too bad cuz I like the curmudgeon.

If they drop Deekswho's an assthe show would be 150% improved.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

I think the main reason why many ppl think this show is ending is because it was moved to sunday nightswhich ppl consider it to be the "death timeslot" for shows since numerous shows that were moved to sunday nights eventually got cancelled. But I think these ppl put too much emphasis on the fact that it's aired on sunday nights but don't pay attention to the actual ratings, which clearly shows that NCIS:LA is actually doing better in its new sunday timeslot than it previously did on monday nights. So I'm sure CBS would take the improved ratings into considerationsometimes when shows improve in ratings on sunday nights, they are kept alive in that timeslot indefinitely, they don't necessarily get cancelled all the timeunless ratings get worse, but clearly NCIS:LA is doing better on sunday nights.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Ratings "improved" because it was moved to 8PM from 10PM. Move it to 10PM Sunday and it better have a strong +7 falling to handle that fall off.

It think it was sent to Sundays to die, but not necessarily this season. The fact the mole has turned into the most interesting potential plot point in years helps.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Ratings have improved because there's much more to the show than the stupid soap opera of Kensi + Deeks. That mushy crap killed the show in season 6 & 7 (and some from season 5). They wrote the dumbest stories for those two: The Frozen Lake, Expiration Date, Three Hearts, An Unlocked Mind, Come Back. Just crap.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Now we know why Granger seemed like he was not long for the series. Apparently his part was written with his illness in mind. I really liked Miguel Ferrer as Granger. May he rest in peace.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Sorry, Hetty is expendable. The show is clearly going for a younger demographic and for all her eccentric skills Hetty is still the oddball character. Granted, Hetty has been the foundation of the show because she adopted Callen and raised up from being a troubled street kid. But I could easily see Hetty being gradually phased out of the picture with an occasional guest apprearance. Callen, Hanna, Deeks, Kensi and Anna are more than capable than carrying an action show like NCIS-LA on their own.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

Keep Hetty; ditch Deeks. She's interesting and eccentric; he's immature and a jerk.

Re: The end of NCIS:LA?

agreed, get rid of Deeks!

Re: hating on Deeks…

You know whatthis hating on Deeks is getting oldyou are not just offending the character, but the actor as wellSeeing that Eric Olsen is playing this role i think that Deeks is what this show neededI've heard that a lot of fans think that the show became better after he camealso a lot of fans only watch the show because of himwithout Deeks, it would just be any other crime showAnd although you have your right to an opinion, this is getting out of handDeeks has been arrested, so how can he be the mole? Deeks is different in the sense, that he makes everything more fun. He is not afraid to say what he means, or to just be himself With that being said, i think they should change the name to, The Sam and Callen show. Everything is about them anywaythey get the most lines, the best scenes, and all the best undercover scenes. They are on the cover, on the dvd's. And every time i read the episode guide, it's always Sam this, and callen that. It's annoyingi want to see more Eric and Nell, and more DensiA M. Deeks episode is long overdue. This is ME voicing MY opinion. with that said, Stop dissing Eric's character. Besides, it's not like Callen or Sam is perfect. I like Eric's character, and that's that. I'm not saying that Deeks is perfect, because he isn't, but he is still a great addition to the show

Also, i don't need you to answer this comment, seeing that i will just have crap coming my way

Re: hating on Deeks…

I like Deeks too.

Re: hating on Deeks…

I don't think people begrudge Eric, he's just working with the material that he's given. The fault lies with the writers and producers, also probably some people at cbs. They've all chosen to characterise Deeks in a really annoying way.

With Sam and Callen, well they're the most popular characters and partnership on the show. So naturally people are going to want more of them.

Re: hating on Deeks…

I think most peopleincluding mecompletely separate the actor from the character s/he portrays. If not, there would be a lot of actors people would "hate" because they play villains or antagonists, and that doesn't happen. I agree with the above comment that the writers have chosen to create a character with annoying mannerisms, behavior, or dialogue (choose your poison), and that character is Deeks for a lot of viewers. It has nothing to do with ECO. It's the same reason some viewers also dislike Eric or Nell (or any other character), but most of those characters do not have as big a role in the show as Deeks.

Re: hating on Deeks…

All shows need comic relief. The goofy one. Drama only gets you so far, but you have to spice it up or it becomes a dry serial a la SVU. They have to have fun sometimes to spice it up. While Callen and Sam are funny at times, they are serious more often than not. And Kensi needed a partner, in both senses of the word.

Good storytelling requires layers, levels to keep it fresh. While admittedly there are more misses than hits, it's still an integral part of the show.

Re: hating on Deeks…

That's what I always say, at least for my personal tastes. Funny you bring up SVU. It had that bit of humor when Belzer was on, & sometimes even Ice T. But now..I'll watch the news if I want to be depressed.

Re: hating on Deeks…

there's a difference between comedic relief and just downright moronicwe already have Eric as comedic relief, we don't need the moronic and sexist juvenile Deeks toohe's not "funny", he's just downright annoying and obnoxious. Having Eric alone is enough comedic relief for me.

Re: hating on Deeks…

I agree, Eric is enough. This is another reason why Deeks is annoying. There is already a character who brings that obvious comedic element, so why is Deeks there?

Re: hating on Deeks…

Well funny is subjective. Many people would say Sam and Callen are the funniest part of the show. Hetty can also be humorous, as can Nell and Eric. So Deeks isn't bringing anything special.

And no one is saying the show shouldn't have humour, the problem is with the type of humour that Deeks brings. It's very infantile, heavy-handed and annoying. He's a very jarring character who often detracts from the actual story.

NCIS:LA has far more dramatic potential than SVU, so there's no comparison. The show could move into 24/Spooks/Le Femme Nikita territory if it decided to be more serious.

We all get the need to mix it up, but the execution has been frustrating. The comedic and romantic elements have made the show more like a soap-opera. I only hope that LL's comments about big changes means they're going to retool the show.
