Actually the showrunners has since said that this show is so losely connected with the X-Men movies, that they might not even be in the same universe.
Also, i think he might have meant the MCU, which is true, it doesn't have a connection to anything in the MCU, or anything done by Marvel themselves.

I agree with you. The only "vehicle" that really did justice to them is the cartoon from the 1990s. That was great, and MUCH better than those funking movies. I wasn't impressed at all by this pilot.

The first episode was great, because you didn't know what was happening until the very end. From here on out, it's just X men.

Hmm, I don't know about overrated, but the pilot did suffer from a case of style over substance. It was entertaining to look at, but the plot didn't really have much to it.

The show was not as good as I had hoped (I am binging Arrow tight now) but it was entertaining.

If Wes Anderson making X-men, it will like Legion.
