Split : I'm confused (spoiler)

I saw Split and the ending did not mean anything to me (the 2nd ending with Bruce).

So my friend said it ties into the world of Unbroken.

I watched Unbroken and don't understand what being tortured in a war has to do with multiple personalities.

It just explains that the two movies take place in the same universe, so the supernatural element makes sense.

It also set up a 3rd movie with David and the Horde facing off.

Oh I see. The Olympian WAr vet who survived the torture is going to fight the guy in split? I guess because he can take years of torture he is going to be hard to beat?

Are they gonna let Jolie and Shamilan co-direct the next film?
