I like the premise and I think it could have been a very intense drama under someone else's direction (minus the "supernatural" elements)
I thought McAvoy was fantastic in characterizing the different identities, and the girls were good. I adore Barbara Buckley. Solid acting all around.
I just didn't like the so-called twist. It reminded me of how Kevin Smith's movies exist in the same universe (View Askewniverse if you will). Cute but gimmicky.

It wasn't a gimmick. They were setting up unbreakable 2. McAvoy will be Bruce Willis' next villain. I didn't like the "supernatural" element either at first because they hadn't set up this universe. It was grounded in reality but when they revealed Willis it explained why he had those powers. He's another super villain just like Mr. Glass.
