Minor thing but here it is . . .

If Hap has a life threatening allergy to tomatoes, than why would he keep tomato paste in his house?

Re: Minor thing but here it is . . .

It wasn't a can of tomato paste. It just had tomato paste listed as an ingredient. Still far fetched that he wouldn't be more careful checking ingridients.

I don't know, people with food allergies make mistakes a lot. He said he ordered the ingredients she told him to, and probably didn't even consider one of them had tomato in it.

Good point, but I know a girl who almost died from eating nacho cheese. Why? She is deathly allergic to peanuts. The manufactures used peanut oil to keep the cheese from solidifying.

Long story short, she never ate anything after that without extreme scrutiny; especially not russian potluck delite.

But then again, it does make for a good moment in a fictional show - I enjoyed it.

That's her. Like someone else said, people with allergies still make mistakes. I think the tomato paste was in the vegetable broth, so either he didn't think tomato paste was normally in vegetable broth (I didn't, and I use it all the time) or maybe he ordered one without tomato paste and they sent the wrong one. Obviously he should have been more careful if he had a life-threatening allergy, but people do dumb things. Plus he was consumed with his work, so maybe he meant to check and forgot. And he knew there were epi-pens in the house, so that gives him a little leeway to be lazy.

I think he ordered the van with the tomato paste in it when he ordered the food that she requested him to purchase so that she could make him the meal
