How Do You Know : Feeling a bit past her prime at 27…

Re: Feeling a bit past her prime at 27…

This is why some celebrities go under the knife because of Hollywood ageism. Its like a real Logans Run. Its wrong to get old, whatever.

Re: Feeling a bit past her prime at 27…

What's stupid is that the best looking actors and actresses that stay looking good for longer, do it by keeping in shape and eating healthily. A MUCH better image to promote to the younger generations about how to look and feel good.

Don't trust the storyline.

Being inconsistent is better than being consistently bad.

Re: Feeling a bit past her prime at 27…

I swear in the movie, the owner/head coach/whatever he is said that she is 31 and runs .3 seconds slower than the other teammates to first base. So she's not 27…

Re: Feeling a bit past her prime at 27…

She is definitely 31 in the movie. I saw it yesterday. However, I would like to point out, I don't care if she can't play 27 or not, she is HOT!!!!!!

Re: Feeling a bit past her prime at 27…

Ok as I se the OP post has been discussed and clarified. but wtf is wrong with you people who think she couldn't play a 27 year old? i have seen people who were 24 and looked older than her.

character is 31 not 27

Solely speaking in terms of being a professional athlete: I agree. There are some sports dependent on youth, like gymnastics and ice skating, but generally female athletes do well into their mid 30s (where many retire). I suppose at 31, one would start to feel their peak passing them, but 27 is still considered prime years for someone who plays softball. I read somewhere that in certain sports (including softball), an athlete will likely peak from ages 26-29 (with the elite have a few peak years in their early 30s). If you pay attention to some of the best Olympic team sports for women in the late 20th century and 21st century, they are littered with late 20s/early 30s players.

Re: Feeling a bit past her prime at 27…

I must admit I only came here to IIMDB to find out about the film which is showing this week on TV here-had never heard of it(and apparently for good reasons). As far as the age question goes, its really how the athlete feels as an individual that's important-she might have had injuries that add up over time, might have burned out and not have the same motivation etc etc-always a mix of physical and psychological factors as to whether you've peaked as an person or athlete. For team sports, you might be past your best in pure performance terms but still add experience and maturity to the young Turks.
