Fuller House : Was the original show as sappy as this one?

I didn't watch the first one, but I can't imagine it was like this one, where every single comment draws an 'AAAAwwwwwwww' and every kiss a 'WWWWOOOOO' from the audience? I get it, that's part of the appeal, but it's too much and unnecessary. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happen after every single line of dialogue. Is it possible to limit it to once per episode? Is that a fair compromise? ENOUGH ALREADY!!

Yes. This Is exactly how the orginial show was. In fact, the original show was actually MORE sappy, as it even had sappy violin music during the more serious scenes. They actually dialed it down some, but not so much that it loses the feel of the series.

I'm trying to like this show and I knew going in there would be a fair amount of cheesie-ness, but it's over the top. I'm not sure why they feel it's necessary in every scene. If I was a member of the cast, I most certainly could not watch a single episode. I would be embarrassed. I guess the paycheck makes up for it though. Not that anyone gives 2 *beep* but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to continue my viewership. For me, it's unwatchable.

I love cheesy shows. It helps to watch the original. Most of us like it for the throwbacks and nostalgia.

I don't mind it in moderation. In fact I expected it when I started watching, but this show takes it to the extreme.

Sorry it's not your cup of tea. I guess you had to have grown up on it to appreciate the new show. But thanks for giving it a chance!

I'll continue to watch. Admittedly, it's a guilty pleasure. I just find myself rolling my eyes a lot at some of the cringe worthy scenes. The adult cast members are true professionals for not getting embarrassed for some of the things they're asked to do. I'm sure there's no music or laugh tracks while performing those scenes.

This is how 90's sitcoms were. The audience sounds are all part of the nostalgia. That's why they joked about the "WWWWOOOOO."

Yes. Sappier. And you kind of have to see the original to fully appreciate this show.
