Resident Evil: The Final Chapter : If you want more read the novelization!!!

If you want more read the novelization!!!

I'm only 60 or so pages in but Jesus it's filled in so many gaps the movie ignored. INCLUDING the much anticipated D.C. Battle. It's a real shame the film didn't have a scene devoted to the battle in D.C. Because it makes Alice and weskers rivalry so much more significant. I loved the film but the book is so satisfying, fans of the series deserve to Read it!!

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Post spoilers if you can.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

So who the hell created T-Virus after all??? Dr.Ashford or James Marcus?

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

It was said in novel that Marcus created Progenitor Cell and Dr. Ashford created T-Virus. In the movie Marcus created T-Virus.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

It just states Marcus created the progenitor cell and later issacs and ashford created the t-virus. The reason the kid in the cable car turned was Bc he was being treated using the progenitor cell and then he choked and died.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Yeah and Cable Car incident happend 20 years ago in Cape Town, South Africa.

Post info about White House, 48 hours and fate of Chris.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Well everyone was attacked by all the creatures we saw in retribution but then another umbrella operative that rivals wesker had creatures called infectors, infect the undead with what I assumed was uroburous and they all get attached by a giant monster called The Melange. I already explained the 48 hours thing, and I don't know Chris's fate yet he hasn't been mentioned as of yet, yiu seem to know quite a bit about it already why don't you post spoilers?

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

I just read all pages avalible at Google Books. The novel will never release in Poland like other RE novelizations.

So that giant monster killed Jill, Ada, Leon and Becky?
What was said in novel about Fanatic Isaacs - Isaacs from tank?
I can't see explanation about 48 hours.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

The monster I think is uroborous just based off what was said in the novel, and the reason for the 48 hour time limit is because there is an umbrella mole in each human settlement and they will kill the remaining humans. And idk about issacs Bc I'm only at the part where Alice gets knocked out from the motorbike unauthorized thumbprint thing.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

I thought the 48 hour thing was because the T-Virus infected would kill all remaining survivors by how the infection rates are spreading.

But I doubt the main video game characters are connected to this 48 hour thing. I guess Chris and Jill better start hooking up and making babies hahaha.

Claire and Leon could make babies. Ada can be a ho and hook up with both Leon and Chris ;)

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

So what is elaborated on?

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

The development of the t-virus is explained, the entire White House battle is shown, the fates of missing characters, and the reasoning behind why the settlements in 48 hours will fall is also stated. I'm only 126 pages in tho.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Thanks a lot for info! that is what I hoped for =D

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

How many pages? I was going to get Retribution's novel, but there were reviews saying it wasn't edited and had many spelling errors, grammar errors, etc.

I read briefly the introduction on Amazon and it was pretty much taken from the movie, besides the tweaking of the creator of T-Virus.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Retribution is ridiculously long but the final chapter is roughy 460 pages long

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Im not sure what to think about White House battle. Another Umbrella employee from nowhere. I don't like Las Plagas/Uroboros arc from games. Giant Monster killed Jill, Ada, Leon and Becky but of course Alice survived.

I like how Washington was featured in the movie. Mysterious feeling. The signs that huge battle happend. No presence of undead horde and mysterious mutation of undead.
Later we learn that Wesker never left Umbrella and his mission in Washington was desterction of Resistance.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

I liked it, I thought the battles was bad ass and the umbrella employee was so morons after weskers job her name was Dania Cardoza, I didn't like how they used her but I like the uroborous element. And Jill displayed a lot of cool moments during they fight, I might she has a hole through her left eye but keeps fighting and saves Alice. I wish they would've put the Washington battle in the film Bc it gives a way stronger emotional impact throughout the rest of the story, weskers death, when the red queen is like "I can offer you Revenge" it's so much more impactful when we know how *beep* weskers betrayal was.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

How Wesker betrayed them? What he did during battle?

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

He gave Alice her powers back just so she could defeat another Umbrella employee for him, since, apparently, she's been trying to steal Wesker's position at the corporation.

During the battle, he fights alongside Alice quite a bit. Then an osprey (like the ones at Arcadia) comes out of nowhere and all the BOWs suddenly stop. Wesker tries to persuade Alice to destroy the osprey with the employee inside, then realizes Wesker just used her to get rid of this random employee.

So after she kills his enemy, he explains that what he injected her with in retribution was both the T-virus and an antidote that would only activate after she used her powers. Alice is then too weak to fight, Ada + Leon are killed by a new monster, Jill is killed by Wesker himself, and Alice is left for dead.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

How do each of the Retribution survivors die in the battle?

You dick

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Leon and Ada are literally absorbed by a new monster called The Melange, similar to a giant amoeba with tentacles.

Wesker's finger mutates and becomes a tentacle, shot towards Jill through her left eye, deep into her brain. DEAD. Wesker then licks Jill's blood off his finger.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

That's pathetic.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

James did you read novelization? Can you share things that aren't in the movie?

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Actually, I just read the beginning as that was the preview on Google Books.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Thanks James.

White House battle from novel sounds like a crap. Glad that this isn't in the movie.
I like how movie left events in Washington for imagination.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

I would be pissed off if i would see Jill killed by Wesker and in that stupid way. I would hate the movie so much. Also a lot of this White House battle has no sense in terms of story. Random Umbrella employee. Super big monster. And all WTF stuff - Leon and Ada consumed by monster, Wesker's mutation, Alice's super powers to destroy monster, Jill killed by Wesker. No thanks,

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

So did Alice have powers in the DC battle? If not, then what was all that mess about him giving her "power back" at the end of last movie and her pupils dilating?

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Plenty of real life drugs and medicines can cause the pupils to dilate so it's probably just some unknown liquid in the syringe.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

That's an excuse and you know it Extinction and Afterlife established that Alice's pupils dilate when she's about to use her powers, and in Retribution they changed for like 3 seconds and then went back to normal as soon as she calmed down.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

yes she has her powers, Wesker actually uses Alice to defeat another umbrella employee that apparently wants his job or something. He later explains to Alice that what he injected her with was both the T.Virus and an antidote that would activate shortly after she used her powers for the first time, and that's what happens.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

It seems interesting, but I'm glad we didn't see anything like that in the movie.

Just imagine seeing Jill, Leon and Ada getting killed in the first 15 minutes!!!

I could see a lot of chaos on boards and forums, people saying Anderson should die and so on.

I liked it in the movie. They never exactly say what happened, but they kind of imply that Wesker perhaps left some loose ends, like Isaacs stated. So, there's a chance the old gang comes back

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

What we have in the movie:

- White House in ruins - looks bombed,
- crashed choppers,
- no presence of undead horde,
- mysterious mutated undead,
- one of Kipepos alive,
- Alice has no memory of what happend there,
- Fanatic Isaacs said that Wesker had a job in Washington,
- Wesker said that he should kill Alice in Washington,

That's all. Events in Washington is a mystery.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

I remember that fan fic treatment I wrote and I had Ada and Leon die in the Battle. Most of you lot were quite alright with that if the actual film had done it that way lol. Though I had Leon and Ada get wounded and then blow themselves up to save Alice and others. Here they justdie. Randomly. Like wtf? And Jill gets owned like a bitch. WTF? Still, at least its an answer. A shame we didn't get that. At least we would've felt some sort of emotional connection. Though that said, how the f..k does/or is this gonna explain Wesker getting killed by a f..king door? Unless he's death is completely different in the novel? Because if he can mutant then surely he could've just mutated and saved himself? I'm curious if the writer made this s..t up or if he actually sat down and takes with Anderson about the loose plot threads.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

His powers are present and referenced in the novel. It says something like he can't mutate though when the door slams on him, because the virus still hasn't stabilized. It makes sense the way the novel puts it. Alice even thinks in the novel how even with his super speed he couldn't get his whole body away fast enough from the door.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

At least it gave Becky a happy ending.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

What happened to Becky?

My ratings are not always like the IMDB average score because I only enjoy intelligent movies.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

She survived the whitehouse battle by hiding in a 'safe room' and reunited with Alice after Alice finished her job.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Yeah don't get the retribution novel. The guy who wrote it screwed up so many things in the novel and added in a cline subplot that basically went nowhere.

Glad to hear this one is done better and much like the Keith Decandido resident evil 1-3 novelizations.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Just bought the novel from Barnes and Noble! I was planning to buy it but I figured preordering would be slightly stupid. Wasn't really sold on it until I had read the preview. I could've saved money from shipping by buying it this weekend when I go to see the film again, but that saved me some social interaction lmao.

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

Who would want more?

Re: If you want more read the novelization!!!

So all people who finished reading the novelization. Can you post stuff which isn't featured in the movie?
