Resident Evil: The Final Chapter : Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Since I've not watched the trailer, I don't know how the scene unfolds but it's interesting that you said Alice is seen awaking out of the rubble of the White House. Just wondering, is she wearing her leather outfit from 'Retribution'?

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
From what I could seeyes.
You immediately see her bloody hand shoot up out of the rubble and then in the next scene she is wearing a cape? I have no clue why she is wearing a cape. Maybe she threw it on to hide herself?
But when she runs to the BSAA vehicle, you see her cape open up and I recognize her Retribution outfit.
*Maybe cape isn't the best term to describe it. A robe?

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Nope, she's in her new battle suit costume.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Pay more attention to the part where she runs to the BSAA vehicle. I'm pretty sure that is the same outfit she wore in Retribution.
Either way this is about the White House battle, not her choice of fashion at the beginning of the film. But knowing Paul being inconsistent, we wouldn't be surprised if she magically had a new costume on. But no, it's pretty much clear after the incident happen, she's still wearing the same gear.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
The reason why I asked about Alice's outfit is because we can decide when the White House battle took place based on her clothing. If Alice is wearing her leather outfit, the battle took place immediately after the gang scouted the destruction from the rooftop. If Alice is wearing her new outfit, it was hours/days later when she had the opportunity to change outfits and wore something more practical before she joined in the battle.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Well unless Alice is so amazing she can change clothes under a pile of debris, I doubt that would be the case.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
She's not wearing the Retribution suit, not even when she's getting out of the debris notice how her gloves are different, the Retribution gloves are made of thinner fabric that fits into the skin and it doesn't cover her thumbs, unlike the gloves with which she wakes up also notice she doesn't have metal in her legs either.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
It is definitely not her outfit from Retribution, it's her new outfit.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
She's wearing a robe. Watch the trailer again. I watched it almost 10 times. When she RUNS to the nearby BSAA vehicle, you see the Retribution outfit. Look at the Blu-Ray / DVD cover of the film. That is what she is wearing.
But for the sake of your arguments, I'll re-watch the trailer again (the intro I mean).

Idk. I guess I can't tell. Either way, she is escaping debris on top of her. How did she change clothes under a pile of rocks? Makes no sense and very inconsistent. Unless the intro is fooling us in thinking that scene IS at the White House. Maybe it's some place else.

No. It's definitely the White House. Just whatever. Paul sucks at everything when it comes to his writing. So she magically changed clothes under a pile of debris. Sweet. Alice is amazing.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
She's likely not under just debris, but bunker. I mean, she climbs up a ladder.

but bunker. I mean, she climbs up a ladder.
Since Alice gets betrayed by Wesker (according to the plot synopsis), I wonder if Wesker locks Alice inside the bunker and leaves her for dead

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Luke. I remember you doing this with retribution. Just watch the damn trailer!
I remember you saying you didn't want to spoil it, and then remember when the movie came out you absolutely thought it was awful. It's pretty badass. Just give in :3
Time for Retribution.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Haha. They were good timesuntil I saw the movie. Actually, I would've disliked the movie more if I had watched the trailer because it looked better than the actual movie and my expectations would've set me up for greater disappointment. However, the movie has grown on me because 'Resident Evil: Underworld' (see link below for plot summary) changed my perspective on the movie. Of course, there are some parts in the movie that I would've changed/done differently but now, I like it. 'Retribution' is still the weakest in the franchise but I don't dislike it as much as I previously did. I remember writing THAT review, it was dramatic because I was emotional .

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
retribution outfit had no cleavage. case closed. its her new gear in the trailer.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
She isn't wearing the Retribution battle suit. It's her new outfit. The "robe" is her duster which has a hood. I've watched it many times as well on a large computer screen and she's definitely wearing her new costume when coming out of the debris.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Redfield, why are you hell bent on assuming that the White House scene in the trailer is literally minutes after the end of the last movie? It's day time for one thing so we know at least a few hours have passed and Alice is clearly wearing a tank top cause you can she her neckline and the area under her collar bone. She is also coming up from a ladder so she obviously coming up from some sort of underground compartment or bunker. She has had plenty of time to change outfits from the Umbrella get up to her new clothing between the end of the last movie and what we see in the trailer.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
No sir she is not
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
I don't think so, she has a different outfit on, so there must be something in between if I remember correctly
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Nevermind, I'll see if she is wearing her retribution outfit in the trailer, didn't notice
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Okay people, in the beginning of Retribution, Alice says the Raccoon City outbreak happened 5 years ago, and in the beginning of this trailer she says it happened 10 years ago. So thats 5 years after we see her, Albert, Ada, Leon and Jill on the White House. If there is a white house battle, it'll likely be a short "arcadia scene" all over again. And Milla said towards the end she finds out what happened to ALL OF HER FRIENDS. Meaning if Leon and Co. really died, why not just say so in the beginning and move on? the only other friend that would be alive if that were true would be Chris, so it wouldnt be plural. Plus the trailer confirmed A LOT from one of those leaked scripts from awhile back so I fully expect Chris, Leon, and Jill to show up at the end.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
How does it confirm the leaked script? That script said Isaac's was Old Alice's son and that he was Alice's ally - that's certainly not true. It also said that Leon, Ada, Jill, and Becky were shot and killed in front of Alice in the beginning of the film.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
no no no man, there was another one the one you're talking about was dog *beep*
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
the one I'm talking about was Claire and Doc save the world by launching a global antivirus capsul. that one
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
There are ruins of White House in trailer. The scene with Alice seems to be set hours after battle.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
In another thread someone brought up the scratch on Alice's face. Which explains why she was in her new outfit. This scene probably happens sometime later in the film. Maybe to find her friends?
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
i know this thread topic wasn't about what Alice was wearing or whatever but for the record Alice (when arising from the White House rubble) doesn't have on her RETRIBUTION outfit (notice there's no buckles, etc.).

but anywhoi'd bet that the flying bat/awaken in the rubble sequence happens at the very beginning/beginning-ish of the film. since RETRIBUTION ended in that White House location it makes sense (to me at least) to start this movie in the same location. i just hope we get at least SOME footage/scenes of that White House battle.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Another thing she has that cut on her face here, which means she doesn't get it from Isaacs when they fight on the tank. so that means she fights something or someone in that bunker she climbs out from, that bunker is also where the Red Queen tells Alice that she needs to go back to the Hive.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
I always assumed it was her scar from fighting Jill in Retribution. A rare case of consistency!

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
I don't think that's a scar. It looks too fresh of a wound to be a scar. and Alice had more bruises on her face than cuts from her fight with Jill maybe Alice and Wesker fight in the bunker? Who knows. but anything is possible.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
I believe we see the White House battle at the beginning of the movie and then some time later, we see Alice in her new outfit and then Wesker locks her in some underground bunker that she then escapes and crawls out of as we see in the trailer. That's why he says "I should've killed you in Washington". As in "I should have killed you instead of leaving you for dead".
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
It was confirmed that movie opens with Umbrella recap then story begins with Alice in deserted Washington.
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Yes, I think Wesker might have locked her up somewhere or she ends up escaping from a trap made by him. She finds a way to escape and when she gets out, many days passed and she doesn't seem to know what happened to the others. This would explain the "looking for her friends" thing Milla said.
I also seem to remember that Milla said the same thing about Claire and Chris on Retribution and said they were "captured by Umbrella" but Alice wasn't even looking for them in the movie.
This gives me hope we'll see Sienna or even Wentworth around the ending, maybe asking for help? One thing I know for sure, the ending will be left open(not exactly with a cliffhanger like the others) and they'll decide if this is indeed the Final Chapter. But I hope so. It's time for this to end.
Now going back to the "betrayed by Wesker" thing. Maybe in the White House, Alice finds out about the cure. Wesker discovers about it and then try to get rid of Alice so he can get to it first, for his own reasons. This would explain that destroyed Nevada facility.

Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
The white house battle is shown
Re: Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Unfortunately it is not shown. It starts with what looks like the morning after and Alice coming out from the rubble as the last survivor. Nothing is ever said about what happened to everyone else who survived the last film during the battle except for that Wesker tricked everyone into a trap. It's kind of unfortunate because I would have loved for this movie to start with the epic battle scene that was teased at at the end of the last movie.
Say goodbye to the epic White House showdown battle…
Alice awakes out of the rubble of the White House, which when she explores her surroundings notices something else is trying to escape the debris. The flying bat (forgot it's name) escapes out of there and Alice rushes to a nearby BSAA.
Now knowing this much information, since I speculated this bat showdown battle to appear much later in the film, this sequence is replacing the White House scene (which Alice will probably just recap after she kills the bat).
Jill, Ada and Leon are no where in sight either. Paul wouldn't throw in two epic battles within 5 minutes of each other at the beginning. Unless they do a "recap" thing and somehow manage to do a brief sequence at the White House.
But don't get your hopes up, it's pretty much a fact that there is no White House battle and we instead get a bat fight.
