The Family That Preys : The wife was pathetic

The fact she stayed with her slimy, cheating husband made her just as weak and spineless as Sanaa Lathan's character. I mean, Sanaa's character was a selfish bitch, but I don't see why she had to get the short end of the stick, while that man got to keep his wife and perfect family. I thought it was sexist and unfair. The woman is just as wrong for pursuing a relationship, but letting the man go back to his happy family without any repercussions because the wife can't "live without the husband" and "support herself" really rubbed me the wrong way.

I think it was laid out subtly, but her mother in law cunningly stated, she holds all the cards now. The power of that marriage shifted in her favor. She was no longer the woman who married into money, she had the power over his money. Married a millionaire without a prenup, she had the power to destroy him financially if he scorned her again. He didn't come out clean, he came out put in his place.
