Telstar: The Joe Meek Story : So disappointed….don't bother
Re: So disappointed….don't bother
You didn't know that the F word only became popular in the 80s? And characters that murder their land ladies tend to be 'unlikeable'. Maybe a Disney film would be less upsetting to you?

Vauxhall19, crack on!
Re: So disappointed….don't bother
Idiot/s. You only watched half an hour and had to switch off due to profanity - you have no right to judge the film.
The acting was outstanding, especially from Con O'Neil.
Joe Meek's descent into madness is only portrayed after the point you stopped watching, so you missed the most important part of his story.
Go back to Facebook - imdb is not for you.

Yeah, Malkin-I couldn't agree more. I was hoping that somebody would give the obnoxious little tw-t a damned good clobbering!
So this is how liberty dies-with thunderous applause?

Re: So disappointed….don't bother
Agreed. It was awful, I couldn't sit through it all.
Re: So disappointed….don't bother
Meek could be a ghastly character at times. A real drama queen, as it were.
Re: So disappointed….don't bother
Truth? When I first fired up this film, I thought too British, too Monty Python-esque. But I gave it another chance, and I was blown away! Spacey's performance was brilliant! I don't know Con O'Neill's other work, but he was made for this film. Really, if you're a music history lover, you need to see this film.
Re: So disappointed….don't bother
MovieMinx67 Too British eh? Very British I'd say and that's what makes it brilliant, which you found out on a second viewing. Britain can be good you know. It's not all bad on this side of the pond.
So disappointed….don't bother
The script was unbelievable.did people really use F words so frequently as they do today?I can't remember that being the case when I was growing up.
The character of Joe Meek was downright unlikeable.all he seemed to do was shout at the musicians he was recording! How can you get the best out of someone if you scream at them? The script was mediocre to say the least and the acting was poor.
